It amazes me the number of critics of interior design, furnishings, colours or even structure. You are buying a home not the taste of the previous owners. If you can afford the house then you can afford to put your stamp on it.
For example if i’d buy a chateau as old as this one i will want the original woodwork on the walls and the period style panels untouched along with family portraits hanged on the walls. If the home has been stripped off these features then to me its missing its character and the whole point of buying an old home with its history. I’m sure those who criticise are somehow the same.
