Good to see alternative styles to the "you must paint this way, doing lots of extra layers etc..." :) Fine for a Daemon competition, but I paint to army painter /2ft level. Funny thing I've used "contrast" approach for years to get extra effects when needed. It's called inks or thin-your-own :) great tutorial, I shall be now mass painting my 10mm FPW French.

Must say that it is very refreshing to see this type of painting. I have painted like this for many years. I have tested contrast paints and wetpallett but it never feels right. I always return to a metod like this but I do mix my paint with water :) Loved this video and hope you do a one similar to this about the Prussians. I intend to make 2024 a year of Franco-Prussian war.

Great tutorial Ken. I'm hoping the Perry's will do more sets for the period. Living in NZ shipping cost for metal figures is expensive as the currency exchange rate is shite. There's a couple of business here that carry the box sets. The other option is Stephan Huber Bavaria Miniatures STL files but I'm not sure if he will do the Prussian and French as he's mention that he is concentrating on the minor German states.
