I LOVE THE CONCEPT! Instead of having a love triangle, or a past handome ex(men with six pack abs and blue eyes) we have this beautiful accomplished women who has done such a great job playing this character. And the guy is not falling in love with this new woman but still want his own girl whom he fell in love with and don't want her to go back to this woman who is so much accomplished to him which he acknowledges. It's lovely, absolutely beautiful.
Why is the American translation 'French girl' when the girl is from Quebec. Just because French is spoken in Quebec, Belgium, Switzerland etc, these countries have nothing to do with France. They are their own country. I'm French btw.
Was just in QC city few months back. Awesome city and doesn't get enough recognition compared to Montreal/ Toronto--which is probably a good thing tbh.
the writers/casting directors truly didn't think this one through bc you have to be outta your damn mind to root for the ugly annoying man over the hot, talented woman in this scenario. if you wanted the audience to root for the man in this movie, you should've either A, found a significantly better man, or B. not have his competition be a woman.
It’s a well known trope. Just usually done with two men and a woman. The ex is more successful and attractive and the less successful and attractive one is jealous and the plot of the movie is them fighting to get the girl.
Vanessa meilleur que Celine !! Dude in what world do you live 😂😂😂 she never gonna be in the same category of Celine Dion because Celine she’s the best . But love the concept maybe because I’m a Quebecker, and I’m happy that so many people gonna love even more my country with this movie
lol! I thought the same - like, Quebec history didn't begin 400 years ago y'all.... I'm pretty sure the indigenous folks would have an opinion on that 😂
oh please the main girl is supposed to end up with this pathetic guy when she has THIS gorgeous WOMAN as her other option? this is not a comedy this is just sad
As a Canadian don't move here. I want to move to the USA so bad to get away from this hell hole. The housing and food is so expensive and wages way lower.
You must never have been the US, then. Just move to a different city in Canada! Although I don't actually believe any Canadian would write this, let alone a French Canadian!
I am in a B rate city make 6 figures and it's not enough. No true Canadian is happy with the government or state the country is in. There are no great options unless I want to live in a trash city but even then you need a solid 80k to "make it" I will happily bring my healthcare skills to the USA soon.@@blw_blw
Because it is actually filmed in a French Canadian province ? Because half the cast is French Canadian? Because "French" in French Girl has nothing to do with the ethnicity of the Hispanic actress, but has actually all to do with the main actress being "French" Canadian? Just to let you know a little bit more, the name of this movie in French is "Chez mes beaux-parents" which translates to "At my in-laws", nothing to do with ethnicity. 😂
@@kp102_14 I know that. Unless Canada suddenly has 0 actress capable of speaking Quebec French, having actress of different nation & different primary language is just isn't that immersive.
Slaughtering a baby lamb for a laugh- Completely cruel and unnecessary (doesn’t matter that not actually shown). Will not be watching this film now that until that point looked promising.
