Love Kenzo B personality, she has the right mindset towards things. D thang seems like a young street dude on efoot in and one foot out but appears like he’s making the right transition. French regardless of how people may feel, has definitely made impact on the culture and has work ethic.
@@simonmaduxx6777 😂 Relax, dude, it's not about "caring" about the person. If you're a fan of the art, you're a fan of the art plain and simple. The guy said he was the most streamed African artist ever, so obviously, someone cares. Appreciation for music and the creatives of music does not always equate to worship or zealous adulation of a person. Get out of your misery and envy, dude.
@@Dynasty19 I am miserable.. because he's a lame artist? 😂. You guys take these RU-vid comments way too seriously. Calm down bro with your silly psychoanalysis. Critiquing a musician makes you miserable and envious? Please explain that logic. I personally could give a flying crap if he had 19 billion streams... He's still lame. I'm a creative myself, I'd rather be me and good than him and be super lame. And I don't have to walk around calling myself French Montana 😂. Give me a break dude You're trying to sound smart but you sound silly. Plenty of untalented comparatively lame folks is out there making a lot of money and is very popular. A fan of the art is just going to accept somebody because they're lame and just happens to be popular? That sounds really silly. Again...he is still lame. This guy has had ABC 123 lyrics forever. Even his name is corny. French Montana? Cmon. But hey the moon and the stars comes together for some people, that's just life. It doesn't mean I have to like it just because he's the most streamed in any given territory. That doesn't mean one bloody thing to me. And it shouldn't have to. We have an idiot ex-president and he's very popular with an idiot population. Should we not critique him because of his successes in scamming and being a undesirable? You see how your logic is failing. Cmon brah.
People sleep on French man. His Montega album that came out in 2022 I felt was one of the best albums that released that year. Good interview. Time to tap in to this Mac and Cheese 5
please listen to that mac and cheese 5, and also if you have time listen to the mac and cheese series and coke boys series and casino life 2 because those are flames man
You can tell Charlemagne feels more comfortable being himself when he has the young kids in the studio. This is why I find it ridiculous that they’re blackballing the drill artist.
Great interview ❤ love to see a man on his journey to bettering themselves, working on their past behavior and lifestyle that wasnt the best and moving on being wiser and all the better for it. Also can relate to him going on a sober journey leaving the alcohol and drugs behind, those things feel good but we can easily get lost.
French Montana's music and mixtapes up until 2016 *_was the shits!_* 2009 to 2014 era French was my personal favorite. After 2016 his style and bars got watered down too much and I stopped checking as much. After he released _Coke Wave 4_ in 2019 (having never dropped a _Coke Wave 3,_ and it was mediocre) I completely tuned out. French lost his core fanbase trying to exclusively cater to the mainstream fanbase. The old music, depending on the track, was a mix of gangsta rap, introspective, soulful, and some of his tracks had real bars because French started out as a battle rapper although his mental degeneration from his drinking/drugs and having previously been shot in the head made the lyrical tracks rarer as the years passed by. His mixtapes are legendary because of all the features and the mixture of different styles of beats, there was something for everyone. Even as an underground artist from 2007 to 2011, he had features from the biggest rappers on his tapes. His tapes also had tons of underground rappers, many who went on to blow-up later. His tapes brought them a bigger audience. Mixtapes in general were a good way for rappers to collaborate and grow their fanbases. That DVD and mixtape eras were my favorite. Hip hop hasn't been the same since then and I barely follow the new stuff.
If you wanna check out French Montana's best work from his best era: More on the old-school gangsta side: - Coke Wave 1 (with Max B) - Coke Boys 1 - Cocaine Mafia (with Juicy J and Project Pat) - Casino Life 1 - Locked Out (with Waka Flocka Flame) More on the soulful side: - Mac & Cheese 2 - Coke Boys 2 - Mac & Cheese: The Appetizer EP More on the new-school gangsta side: - Mac & Cheese 3 - Casino Life 2
I was there sold his dvds and mixtapes dipset was paying niggas not to play and listen to his shit 50 and the unit cosigned him early on then he linked wit Max B cocaine city dvd
Didn’t understand why I was up watching this… until I heard what I needed about loosing people when you let go of negative things that they still attached to you
I drove a NYC yellow cab from 2009-2016, I saw Montana's white ghost parked outside of Hot 97 on Hudson, Meatpacking district, Chelsea, Sin City bronx, was fkn crazy
This French Album is HARD. I love the songs with him and Ye. But the whole album is great. Montana Back. My favorite New York Rapper of the last couple decades.
1- I hate when envy pushes to wrap an interview too fast 😂 read the room of your cohosts 2- Jess - in regard to the why Africa questions were you aware of French being Moroccan? 3- ENVY - now why u gone ask that mane bout diddy 18:35 Good to see French ❤
French dawg ; your a legend not just for hip^hop music for the culture but I think I heard you say that you helped open a hospital in Uganda and that's what I call some OGż shiiit dawg real talk about real life well done y'all !!!
I know french gave d thang a whole lecture after this interview cus the way he looked at him when he said he’s “ living what he raps” (self snitching).
Why yall didn’t ask him the important question…..DIDDY???Thats Diddy artist and the people wanna know about Diddy more than they do Mac & Cheese 🤷♂️💯💯💯
Bro what?? You def not a French fan if your not a fan of his music and you just listen to the airways don’t talk shit he not what he use to be but he def got 10 plus solo song so your homework little kid
@@Mad.Max1215 where did i claim i was ever a french fan? I think he's pretty garbage, and only good for his features or hooks. I don't even listen to the radio...and woke? what? lmao, you really in your feelings for French? Never in the world would i imagine there being french montana stans. That's like Spliff Star having stans
I think when he went back home to his mom native country and they slipped him something that changed him he spoke on it he looked weird in the face for a long time and took him a minute to get his self back together
Y’all ain’t even see that when envy asked about diddy the signal that French gave like nah don’t talk about him yo the coded language these guys use is crazy 🤦🏾♂️ check it out
Good on charlamgne on motivating that young rapper to stay active because he’s lyrics have to be a reflection of his real life. Good leading the youth.
This be my problem with the breakfast club, They are the biggest show and based out of NYC but don’t treat the up and coming talent well. But that’s what happens when the main anchor for the show isn’t from the city or cares about being intentional on uplifting the cities music talents. Charlemagne tries to always put it off on the DJs but won’t take accountability for the constant narrative he paints on NYC, He’ll always ask the question but will never try and add to be the solution.
