This is what sets Dave apart from everyone else. Always coming up with new and better gear or improving an existing piece. Not just in it for the money but really cares about what he's selling to his customers. You are too good to us sir!
Yellow Heat! Learn something new every day, ive been using the Red didn't seem to work well for me though i had a problem with my stove. Thank you Dave
Another well thought of & great design for outdoor usage. Multi purpose with adaptability for minimalist carry. Definitely will be part of our outback addition. Cheers mate. Greetings from Australia.
I look forward to seeing what you and others decide to cook in that mess kit. I want one because I think it's cool but I'm not sure what I would make in it. I just got one of your 25 ounce stainless steel cups and decided to test it on my alcohol stove against my Toaks cup and I'll take the extra couple ounces and durability over the warping and slightly (~about 20 seconds faster on the alcohol stove for 20 ounces of water) I've seen with my titanium. I'll definitely be buying one of your new alcohol stoves since I love the old one but want something a bit smaller.
Wow, home run, knocked out of the ball park products! Not sure what to buy first! You definitely have your own Pathfinder spin on stuff. I love how you take regular products and put the Pathfinder modifications, making them PERFECT.
Hope you get a bunch of stock of these. The M40 mess kit is stellar. I've got the aluminum version and love it but have wanted an stainless one forever.
Dave, you are an excellent example of a “true American entrepreneur “ that founded and built this country into the prosperous country it has become. Congrats on the introduction of some new products.
The amount of foresight and thought and engineering and continued passion that you put into your products is just totally awesome and so appreciated. Thank you very much sir!!
It’s great to see a new M40. The originals both stainless and aluminum are hard to find and very expensive. I love all of the new kit and your Philosophy on design. One point. I have the 32oz bottle kit and the stove alcohol burner combination is not efficient when the burner is placed under the stove. I’ve gotten very long times to boil and it gets pretty hot. I filed notches in the bottom of the stove, flip it over, place the burner inside and place tent stakes in the notches for a pot stand. Works great then.
Great stuff Dave, thanks for making an M-40 cook-set, been wanting one for a long time now, the originals I gave up trying to find, the ones I did were outrageously expensive. I missed the boat on that! Time to save up some $ to get the M-40.
Appreciate your incalculable contributions to Bushcraft. With collapse of Western Civilization accelerating and unstoppable this will help us healthy elements left set forth a degree of Civillity in the resultant Chaos.
I have the original Swedish m40 trangia and it's the best cookset iv ever used iv even baked bread in it this item will sell out in no time at all so if you have the money buy it now you will not regret it 😉
Another great video Dave! You always have the most excellent products and I am definitely ordering a stove and stove stand! What is that sweet black mat you were using?
The M 40 looks like a great kit! I have two questions, I’m wondering a) If the base of the M 40 could also be used as a woodstove platform, and b) if there is a sack or carry bag which might fit the M 40 well? Thanks for all your wonderful products and excellent teaching!
Will the Swedish military cook set have a dedicated carrying system to secure it from rattling and Easy Transport something durable yet functional I've owned two for years and never could find a bag or pouch with space to hold extra cooking necessities
Nice equipment. The small pot sticks to the windscreen. Small pot can be fitted with a stick on the handle, but the stove/windscreen doesn't. Pulling them apart while hot can be tricky.
For the new alcohol stove to accompany the PFM40 stove is it the same size/volume as the Svea stove that came with the M40 or the smaller standard Trangia stove?
Hi Dave i was wondering if you might know if the Helikon Foxtrot m2 pack will be available or if its been discontinued. I reached out to the company and they have not responded
I run marketing campaigns for clients the last 20 years. You'll get more sales sharing links to the products in the video description. People are lazy, lazy, lazy, even your most awesome customers are lazy too.
I have the both original aluminum and the stainless m40. I've used the stainless for years. It's a great kit. I received your stainless kit a week ago and I'm impressed. It's actually lighter than the original stainless m40 which should appeal to many because the original is very desired and hard to get, but they are heavy. Your stainless m40 is durable and lightweight, a good combination.
These are all well designed and thought out products. How ever, for ME, I had to decide to stop buying gear and use what I have, which isn't often these days. Even so, all of this gear is well researched and tested by Dave, himself, along with his instructor staff, which makes all SRO products first class. If you're in the market for gear like this, you can rest assured it will perform at a high level for a long time. ;-)
Awesome video Dave, I’ve been a huge fan since your dual survival days & your videos are always interesting and informative & you also find a way to teach us a little something along the way which is also cool, these all look like solid products & you are doing a great job I’d definitely believe you’ve found your callings in life 👍
I'm loving the M40 kit. I've veen wanting a stainless one for awhile. But that alcohol stove kit and stand is truly revolutionary! Totally innovative! There's nothing like it in the marketplace that I know of! I can't wait to use it with my cup and bottle set. I've been having to modify alcohol stoves to fit with that bottle stove. I love that kit! I use it in my deer camp and in my duck blind all the time! Great video Dave!
Good stuff Sir, greatly appreciate you putting in the effort to make us outdoorsmen's lives better through good quality, well thought out gear, keep up the great work!
Well thought out.... The cafetiere and pot is a great multi-use idea... The aero-press coffee system is a one trick pony, and if you run out of filters you're screwed.... Plus with the stainless steel durability of the cafetiere it'll last for many years.... Top notch ! Thanks for the great videos 👍
Just received my M40 Swedish Mess Kit this week! It is top notch in every way! Wish I had seen this before I paid $260.00 for an original and very used kit from UK. This is a great piece of kit that I will use often.
I'm kinda new to this stuff and just discovered "swedish mess kits" thanks to Dave and PF. Unfortunately, I already bought a bunch of other junk trying to achieve what these swedish mess kits achieve. That's ok but before I pull the trigger on yet another cook system, I have a few questions. I don't know where else to ask them so I hope I can get a response here. The questions are: 1. will the PF canteen bottle (kidney shape) nest inside the pfm40 pot (large) with the cup/lid (small pot) on? 2. this is the one i'm really interested in. how advisable or inadvisable would it be to use the pfm40 windscreen as a stick stove? (either upside down or right-side up) 3. are there any plans to release a titanium version of the pfm40? has anyone ever done that? 4. what are the capacities of the two pots? Thanks in advance!
Very nice cooking system. i would like it better if it was half that size. like for 1 person size. it seems to me that would be nice for 2 person. I realy like your french press.
Dave, is there any news about the canvas bed sleeve that you were R&Ding when you last mentioned it. I remember seeing a prototype on one of Shawn's "Corporal's Corner" vids last year. Is it a go or no go?
Just got my M-40...Gotta get the kuska as well. Dave, your store is my goto...Its perfect kit to employ after a long days hunt or a hike. Sir you are a blessing....
Dave this is awesome! ESPECIALLY the m40 cook set. I can't find em anywhere and when I did come across one, the price...🤯🤯🤯!!! I can't wait to get one!!
I have the original two of the original M40 mess kits and one of the stainless versions as well. I purchased and have received the Pathfinder M40 mess kit and it's perfect! I'm glad that someone got smart and Made a reproduction entirely of stainless steel. It's now my favorite stove! Now you need to sell a carry bag for this! Dave I know some people are going to bitch about the extra weight, but I'm 70 years old and I'm not an ultra light backpacker I mostly do day hikes so it's perfect for what I do! Now I have to get on the web site and order the new stove and x stand. Thank you very much for coming out with this mess kit and new stove a pot stand I will get a lot of use! ATB Sam Adler from Vietnam!
I have followed Dave thru his career, always had more respect for him than any other wilderness survival educator. I'I'm originally WV boy, grew up stomping the hills, getting lost as often as possible, spent my life in as an Eastern deciduous back hills backpacker, hunter, fisher, survivalist, but Im also a metal fabricator/repurpose artist. Considering the world we currently live in, i see difficulties ahead for us all, and my mindset is constantly viewing future use of items, survival and "THRIVal", if you will....like how wouldnwe MAKE that alcohol for those stoves, if it wasnt on the store shelves? With a small batch still tyat would cook mash of any type, and I bvsly could make another highly barter-able substance as well. I just have so many ideas, I'd love to share. Plus, I'm right here in central Ohio.....DAVE, let's do some work man!
Dammit Dave! Now I have to buy one. Stop taking all my money! Just kidding, I have an original M40 set but I always wanted a stainless one. You read my mind.
You're excellent at pitching products, David. The work seems to agree with you too. As a fan I will watch anything you put out. Way back from the barefoot dude days. As a new bushcrafter, I love these product videos. They help me big time. Plus I'm an older newbie so part of my hobby involves spending money.
Awesome , I love the french press, no plastic like the Stanley I've been using. My Pathfinder Hammock is still in great condition, I use it just about every day, in this Florida weather, take good care of it and put it away when not using it, but I us it out back , been on a week long trip in the Smokey mountains with it. I would easily busy another Pathfinder Hammock, if something happened to mine, I have just started making content, and will try to make a video showing all my Pathfinder gear, I'm proud to own.
Ordered the PMF40 mess kit from MidwayUSA. Ive got the swedish aluminum version and like it. Unfortunately the Pathfinder stainless version i have has some rough internal surface that obviously was not fully finished and the hinge on the top cap was bent. I like concept. I like the stainless windscreen. Quality of build was left wanting.
Will your old alcohol stove, which I just purchased, work with the Swedish cook set, etc? Will the stove stand work with the old stove? I haven’t tried my new stove (your old stove) yet, for anything, looking forward to it!
