A Frenchman being tried for recruiting strangers to rape his drugged wife will be back in court to testify on Wednesday after being admitted to hospital, the presiding judge at his trial said. The hospital admission on Tuesday of Dominique Pelicot, a 71-year-old retiree accused of repeatedly raping and enlisting dozens of strangers to abuse his heavily sedated wife, had sparked speculation that the trial may be adjourned, but the presiding judge said the trial could now continue as planned.

They should force him to attend. Was his wife’s health taken into consideration all those years? She could have died and even though he saw her declining he continues with his horrors.

What is this psychobabble, i don't care if he has split personality or not, one person was wronged, punishment must be administered in proportion to the trauma caused to the victim, simple as. Why does Europe overengineer justice like this and make up excuses for the worst people at the expense of the victims?

Split personality is a hoax. It's just people thinking that because they don't remember when they put the car's keys, they have an edgy alter ego living in their bodies. And then, feeling super special for that.

Without her knowledge? I find it very difficult to believe that she did not know or suspect what was going on. Hundreds of men slept with her over a long period of time, so she must noticed that there was something wrong with her body, (physically and otherwise).

She did notice that many strange, unaccountable things were going on with her health. She thought she had Alzheimer's disease because she couldn't remember having gone to bed the night before. She had multiple blackout episodes which were unexplained. She also had STDs, but she and her doctors were mystified because why would anyone suspect her husband who, on the surface, seemed loving and trustworthy?

Says the man who knows NOTHING of female physiology. This report says Pelicot invited over 90 men to rape his wife over the course of 10 years. That averages out to one every 5 or 6 weeks. But if he "scheduled" 2 or 3 men for each "event," it could have been every 3 or 4 months. Drugs like Rohypnol leave the victim open to suggestion. If he told his wife, "Yeah, good time last night!", she might well have assumed her husband partook of his marital rights and she -- possibly thinking she had taken a Valium or some other sedative -- just didn't remember.
