I've watched a LOT of Paul Harrell videos, I still haven't found one where he looks dumb or like he doesn't know what he is talking about.

The things people bitch about never ceases to amaze me. If you're in a gunfight, it is likely you wont even hear the noise, mush less be distracted by it in anyway.

I wish he would have yelled "LETS TAKE A LOOK AT THE TARGET!!", After the no ear plugs run.

It might just be me, but I want to compliment Paul for a style of presentation that is both relaxing and informative without being dull.

Paul is so dedicated to providing answers he was willing to risk his hearing. I think solely based on this clip he deserves to reach 1 million subs at minimum.

This man is a legend. He has a phenomenal dry sense of humor.

A boss of mine once told me something that has stuck over the years: "There is a big difference between 10 years' experience, and one year's experience ten times in a row." Some people go through the same motions and never learn a thing; some get sloppy and lazy and get worse over time. The goal is to learn over the years and get better and smarter.

It’s funny, I remember the first high-risk takedown I ever did vividly (in 1987, at the start of my career, which dates me). The bad guys were definitely armed with automatic weapons (and this was Canada, very unusual). I bailed out of the car when we did the stop and got all the effects they tell you about in training: tunnel vision, aural distortions, time slowing down. I didn’t hear most of the commands being yelled. I don’t think I would have heard it if a weapon had been fired. After that, I joined a street squad that did lots of high-risk takedowns, and you learn to ride the adrenaline and can function with it, but you never are relaxed. I love these armchair quarterbacks that constantly accuse you of stupidity, incompetence, or god-knows-what. I’m guessing that 99% of them have ever heard a shot fired in anger, and half of them don’t own a firearm. I find you very knowledgeable, well-spoken, and you state your methodology and biases up front. Ignore the idiots and just keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing a fine job. L

Not only did you shoot without hearing to dispute idiots on the internet whose training and firearm knowledge likely ends with Call of Duty games, but your low-key, dead-pan delivery insults were top notch! Amazing how some people are so utterly worthless to society that all they do is criticize excellent online content such as yours. They can't be grateful that you impart your knowledge and experience to us for free, nor can they be bothered to test points of contention themselves, and make a proper response video to refute any erroneous claims. Speaks volumes about their character. If I ever meet you in person, it'd be my honor to buy you a beer. You're one of the few instructors online who isn't full of crap, is well spoken, and calls it like it is. I've disagreed with you on some things, but it's only ever been personal preference, which are subjective matters, such as what kind of ammo to carry in my EDC pistol. That's fine, as guns/ammo are about as personal of a choice as one's choice in underwear.

I've always been impressed with Paul's knowledge, coupled with his humility. As a person who is not a sportsman, and who only has one firearm for home defense I appreciate Paul's inclusive approach without all the political overtones. His just lay out the facts approach works for me.

I only want to add to your video(s). I too am a retired military person, and one of the best lesson I learned and practice is added value. Amazing how RU-vid and Facebook has created a place for everyone to comment on issues that do not matter. I see RU-vid University as a place to get ideas, info and lessons. The info I use or not use is my choice alone to use or flush. I do not see any 'added value' with someone bashing the person for a video. An example is eye and hearing protection. You wearing or not wearing protection does not hurt the viewer. I know the correct method, and adults should too. If adults are commenting how you will influence kids, those adults teach their kids the correct method. In short, if people do not like the video, move the F on. Great job Paul. Thank you for your service past, present and future.

"At least put some effort into being right." This right here. Yesterday, I saw some online goober commenting on a picture of a young woman getting out of a car, clutching a Kriss Vector SMG. He said that it looked awkward and it'd be easier with a Tommy Gun. I told him that a Thompson, at it's smallest, is still ~200mm longer and about 2.7kg heavier than the smallest Vector SMG. All I've ever asked from people is that if they aren't knowledgeable on a subject, to either shut the fuck up or admit to it and crack open a book.

Paul, you are a good looking guy, and "dumb" is never a word that could be applied to your looks, shooting ability or presentation. Your excellent speech, and total lack of "gung ho" is so refreshing after the camo-clad, barely articulate clowns that set themselves up as "experts" on RU-vid. Don't change a thing... :-)

You can see the table he's sitting at dry. at 1:18 I thought "That looks drenched! He really has the dedication to sit at a wet table for us!" Then at 14:12 I didn't really pay attention but the table is noticeably drier. And finally, at 18:25 the table is entirely dry. Which brings me to the question: How long does it take to make a single video?
