G'day everyone. This is Daniel O'Grady and welcome to another Wasabicars video.
Today, I'm bringing you a Datsun Bluebird.
Just between you and me, I'm sick of seeing 510 Bluebirds.
But, this is a 910. Quite a few generations after that.
Back in the day these didn't really interest me either.
But, there are just so few around nowadays,
and this one is in "time-capsule" condition.
It's seriously amazing.
Look at that. The wheels, the... everything about it is just staggering, amazing.
The reason I decided to bring this 910 SSS-E to you today was because on Facebook I was I was um'ing and ah'ing and having a look around. And, I saw a picture from the National Motor Racing Museum in Bathurst, Australia. Because, I think.. back in the early 80's, a fellow by the name of George Fury who had a white Datsun Bluebird. The same as this one. Four-door, with a B-pillar. I think they fabricated an independent rear suspension into it, and it had a turbo, whereas this one doesn't.
So, I just saw a picture of that. Sorry, that's a very long-winded way for me to say. I just saw a picture of that and I thought, Damn! I am going to bring that video to life.
So, this car is a 1979 (I'm guessing) SSS. It's an 1800 SSS-E. And, according to my resources, of the 1800 SSS's, the E was the best.
From there we went to the 2000 SSS's. So, a 2 liter engine.
There also was a hardtop version of this car which I've never seen.
I look forward to the day that I do see one.
This one here, it looked to have come from a city near Tokyo according to the number plate.
I can't show you that. Or, I won't show you that.
But, It's so great that there are people with classic cars who travel all over the country to share their love of their car.
People who want to tell stories of their car and connect with people.
I love it. It's so good to see.
Okay, guys. There you go.
It's an 1800 SSS-E, and there's another one of these that I want to show you at a later date.
It's got a turbo but it's also a SSS. It is amazing.
But, for now, let's just settle for this "Granddad" version.
Which is a spectacular car in great condition.
Thank you all very much for joining me.
And, click "like" if you like my videos.
That helps other people know about it, so that would be appreciated.
And, if you need a t-shirt, no pressure, I have t-shirts.
And, they're pretty good. I'll leave you with that.
Thank you so much.
See you later.
