I think a little pie box would be a fantastic idea, even though it adds more to the cost. I think customers would really appreciate it and it would add to the realism.
If your wax is sticking to the pan, it's not the temperature that's the issue. You'll need to try a different wax altogether. We use a food-grade paraffin blend.
Hi Steve, We make the fruit as well with silicone molds of the different fruit shapes. You can search the internet for 'wax embed molds.' There are many to choose from!
Hi, Thanks for watching! It sounds like the wax you've chosen is either a little too hard or you're trying to mold it when it is too cool. Also, some of the vege waxes out there seem to be either in a state of being melted or hard - there is no in-between. You need to use a wax that remains pliable for a time as it cools.
Hi Stacy, Are you referring to the topping at the end that make the pie look 'juicy?' The final topping is a gel wax which has these characteristics when it is cool.

Hey, I absolutely love this you have inspired me to try a pie candle, I was wondering what wax you use...I read through the comment and completely understand that your manufacturer is a top secret...but I was wondering if you could say what kind of wax it is ex. Soy or Parafin, hopefully you can answer this. And again great creative candle it is absolutely beautiful, thanks for sharing the process with us.
Hello, thanks so much sharing & making this lovely vid. I was so inspired by you that I tried making my 1st pie. But unfortunately I'm not sure what I did wrong cause my "crust" kept on cracking & breaking into small pieces as I was molding it onto the pan. How do you get your crust piece to look so softened after waiting a 1/2 hour? And not hard like mine was :( Please kindly help by letting me know what I'm doing wrong. Thank you so very much.
Hi Alisha, So glad you like them! The spice is cinnamon, and the wax formula is a trade secret. The pecans are molded from wax and the glaze is a special wax known as 'gel wax.'

I like how the gel topping kind of looks like caramel sauce. Do the wicks have to be wax coated in order to work? I noticed that you coated some of the wicks with the gel, but not all of them. Is there a particular reason for you do it that way, or did you actually coat all of them but not show it in the video?
those would have to be real aluminum pie pans. you can get them in large quantities on amazon - just look for the size you want. and i am sure those are wax pecans - they probably used a mold. i don't think they could add real food to that, but i'm not sure.
I’m sure this candle is going to look great. However ladies if you are thinking about making candles. There is so much more than wicking and wax. Every fragrance oil changes the wax blend so there is a lot of experimenting before you find the perfect wick, wicks come in several sizes and it is crucial for a prober burn and scent throw. As I’m listening I hear she’s using Gel wax so I’m guessing these candles are for show and not aroma? Gel wax does give off a strong aroma. Another thing is the temperature that you pour the wax. There are many waxes on the market with many many variables & formulations. Making the best candle takes a lot of patience and testing. I think if you are going to teach candle pouring you should include everything. Just my opinion lol I know candle makers never like to share there formulas lol . Good luck!!!
I can't lie. You could have done a lot better. It would have been best if you had made sure the glaze coated all the pecans thoroughly, and had crimped the crust.
