This will show you how to make a fresh ground bacon burger. I grind the beef and the bacon together. The bacon provides the much needed fat content but with that amazing bacon flavor that we all love. This is not a difficult process and you can do it easily with a kitchen aid grinder attachment. I think the best meat to make or grind burgers is chuck steak. I also think american is the best cheese for burgers
This is a great superbowl food idea

Got a universal #2 hand crank grinder last week off eBay bc I'm tired of every year it seems theres a ground beed mark up for what ever reason. I was thinkung about grinding beef and bacon bc the bacon outta crisp up on the outside. But i didnt wanna waste bacon. Thanks for the vid bro. Awesome bout to chop up some bacon and start grinding.

The next time I did this, I pre-cooked the bacon before running it through the grinder. Came out better

I know this video is a year and a half old, but something to note from a guy who has been grinding his own burgers for 15 years...notice he cooked them well done, thats a must if you grind raw bacon. I like my buergers med-rare, or medium at best...not hot enough to consume raw bacon. If youre using bacon to add fat content, but dont like well done, you must par cook the bacon first. And if the OP sees this, what grill are you using? 700 degrees on a gasser is wicked awesome!

Chris.. it is funny that you mention cooking the bacon first. That was the last time I ground the bacon into the meat raw. Every time I have made the burgers since the video, I pre-cooked it, diced it, then put it into the grinder along with the beef. I like the added saltiness that you get from bacon when you fry it and yes being able to cook the beef med-rare too. Regarding the grill, I purchased it from Sams Club. Their Member's Mark grill. However, I attached it to my natural gas line and also changed the orifices to allow for more gas flow. The thing cranks... such a huge difference when trying to get that nice quick char on the outside while leaving the middle pink. That temp is great for pizza and other things too.

I usually keep the meat partially frozen
@flannelguydiy6458

that can help to keep it from getting clogged in the grinder.

I love bacon. We have a Kitchen aide but not the grinder part, I need to look into that. Turned out a nice burger. Mustard and Ranch for PAPA!

why toast the bun first?
@flannelguydiy6458
@flannelguydiy6458 6 лет назад
New Wave.. .toasting the bun gives it another layer of flavor and also a different texture with the crunch. If you have ever had an in and out burger, they toast the bun on the flat top.

I came here after the Gordon Ramsey burger video to see your ground bacon burger. Looks great. Please make some more food videos. I've subscribed!

David... thanks for the comment. I have more food videos already filmed but just waiting to release them. For instance, I have a corned beef and cabbage dinner video that I will release one week before St Patricks Day. Of course, more before that one.

I mix a chuck 80/bacon 20 ratio no pink in the middle, and burger still is juicy and tender with a hint of bacon. Salt pepper mayo and roasted picante

I have to admit, in the beginning I was upset that the party was well done, but your technique is what mattered :)

We've got to get our hands on one of those grinder attachments. Can def. see how having one would open up the possibilities quite a bit. Thanks for sharing how you put these burgers together.

Yes.. absolutely. That grinder creates more recipe possibilities. One day I am going to try to cram veggies through there to make a veggie burger.
