Hey guys! I just wanted to say that ALL brands make products that work nicely together. If you look up any base product, they'll always have recommendations from their own product range that works best with them. This doesn't just apply to Nude By Nature. However, in this particular video I wanted to address any questions or concerns that my viewers may have had with these particular products so that you can get the best outcome from them, but this guide applies to any base products in general. x

I'm so confused about how to apply foundation because everyone says something different about making it not cakey. Most seem to say blotting with a blender, sponge or even a brush is best. What do you say about this? Does it depend on the brand of makeup or is blotting better than buffing etc to avoid cake? Otherwise, loved this video. Your tip about what products work together was great!

HI RACHAEL! Our names are spelled the same way - how cool! That never happens! haha. Foundation application comes down to both personal preference and what works best with the product. Generally buffing motions with a brush will reduce coverage slightly as the product is being pushed around the skin. This isn't actually a bad thing, but again it comes down to preference. Applying in bouncing motions with a beauty blender will ensure fuller coverage as you're simply pushing the product onto the skin. I use both of these techniques regularly depending on the finish I want, so I would say have a play around and see what you prefer for the foundation you love to use :) Also, makeup getting 'cakey' is often from too many layers of product, so if you were applying a full coverage foundation and then a thick powder foundation over the top, that would probably end up looking like too much product on most people (definitely on my skin!) so I'd advise just blotting any oil you have or just using a sheer loose powder if you need any powdering at all. Girl your ears! 😅 I can’t remember who it was but I watched a tutorial with red carpet flawless tips or something and they pointed out applying foundation to your ears especially if you’re fake tanned is a must and now I’m so OCD about it hahahah. Love your work tho 😘😘😘

A base works best by using products from the same brand? Sorry what a load of sponsored crap. I dont mind sponsored videos but come on!

natalie If in doubt or having issues with a product, it’s always best to use products from the same family, yes. I completely stand by that. As they often are made to work together, particularly if you’re talking about a brand with fewer products options. Of course brands make products that work well together. Please know that I don’t say things that I don’t mean, whether sponsored or not, and as I said I am a big believer in Nude By Nature and their products so I filmed this video with them to show users how to get the best result. I turn down a lot of sponsored work because I don’t love the brands, so when I work with a brand I can happily be transparent with my audience about it.

No idea how you manage to make this foundation work. I've tried it with a variety of primers, no primer, brushes, sponges, fingers, literally *everything*, and it's still a patchy, ugly mess. It is by far the worst foundation I've had the misfortune to purchase.

Jasmine Szczurko I struggle a lot with sound unfortunately as I live next door to 6 construction sites (no joke, SIX!) haha but I’m moving in a couple of weeks so hopefully it’ll be easier to work with in my new location! Thanks for your feedback :)
