There seems to be a little confusion in the comments section, so let’s make this clear: this scene is not canon. This is just Will’s exaggerated retelling of the night in question. He’s deliberately making Uncle Phil look like an unreasonable tyrant. The way it actually happened, he never insulted the girl. He didn’t tell Carlton he was embarrassed by him either, though he did puncture his floatie.

This is what makes James Avery such a fantastic actor, he's so calm and fun in the show that you feel totally comfortable with him, but then he gets those really mad moments and it terrifies you RIP to an amazing man..

As Phil (James Avery) said it himself in the Papa's Got a Brand New Excuse episode that it's alright to be angry. As far as Chris Pookie Rockhead for getting help from Will himself to guest star in the show when after NBC & SNL fired him, however he dissed his wife despite that he's a comedian, but this is not the BET Awards, MTV Movie/VMAS & Def Comedy Jam, he had & deserved that slap to be checked. Every action leads to a reaction when you pick on the wrong one.
Uncle Phil ordered Will to remove the parasites in *5 minutes;* but Will refused to obey and said he could do it in *four* so Phil slapped him with a subpoena. Time wasn't the issue, it was Will back talking Phil.
