Freshened up Granny Stitch | Revival Cardigan Progress Part 3 | Gracefully Unraveled

I'm making the armholes and the left and right front panels of my Revival Cardigan. I only filmed myself making the left side of the Revival Cardigan because the right side is made the EXACT same way. I found that making this portion of the Revival Cardigan has been the perfect focus/mindless ratio. The long rows allow you to zone out, while the 4-row repeat of this tweaked granny stitch keeps your mind engaged. I seriously love patterns that allow you to zone out but are interesting enough to keep you intrigued in the project.

Hi! I’m currently working on the same project and running into an issue with the armholes (size small). Basically, I have the correct number of stitches after row 1 of the armhole (27 dc3tog and 4 dc), but after row 2, I’m finding that I have an extra 3dc cluster (28 3dc clusters and 2 dc instead of 27). Do you remember if you ran into the same issue while you were working on the cardigan?

I believe I did have this issue while I made the sweater. I’m not 100% sure though, because it’s been so long. I know that I came across an issue that I alerted the pattern designer about & she said she was going to fix it. I’m not sure if she ever did fix it though! My advice is to not really worry about the cluster count as long as you’re getting straight edges.

I'm making this at the moment, and I believe the number of clusters alternates, e.g first row of clusters have say 25, the next one up will have 26, but then after that it'll be back to 25, and so on throughout the pattern. This is based on the position of the groups of 3dctog in the row below 😊

@Gracefully Unraveled I am losing cluster counts if I follow pattern and keep cluster counts the edges are not straight. Does that make sense? Basically can't keep stitch count right?

@@brendahaisler4874 it’s kind of tricky to help you with that without being able to see it. How many stitches are you off by? I would personally just do what I need to maintain a straight edge vs keeping stitch counts correct. As long as you’re still able to reach the proper measurements.

Any chance you might be able to help me with the last armhole row? I am to the point where i chain 30 in the middle of the row, but have no clue what the last part is? Or how it connects to the next part??

Hi Padrin, so you’re going to work back down that ch 30 & then all the way down the rest of the row. This is going to make your front panel. The end of your ch 30 should line up with the “top” of your sweater. Once you finish your front panel rows, you should be able to lay it on top of the back panel & sl st them together. I hope this helps?
