This homeowner's attic had a number of improvements done to it. Insulwise air sealed the attic floor with foam, installed additional vents to balance the roof ventilation, vented the bathroom vents to the outside through the roof, eliminated mold that had been growing on the underside of the roof, built a sealed insulated hatch around the attic ladder, constructed a 16 ft x 12 ft raised storage platform, and finally top coated the original R-19 fiberglass batts with an additional R-30 level of blown cellulose insulation to achieve a net R-49 attic. The final outcome is a far more energy efficient and comfortable home, with the benefit of sturdy storage platform in the attic.
