I highly recommend getting a really good fan. Dorms can get incredibly hot, especially during the winter when they crank up the heat!

My advice for you is to not go overboard!! I'm still in college but I just donated A TON of stuff that I convinced myself I needed as a freshman. Get the essentials ahead of time, once youre moved in youll be able to figure out what else you need/want. Hope this helps!!

You can hang the "babe" sign with clear command hooks! They have really small clear ones that can hold a lot of weight!

As a rising sophomore in college, I definitely recommend command hooks and strips. You can hang up your “babe” sign, towels, decor, etc. without damaging your walls. I would also recommend a step stool especially if your bed is going to be up high or need to reach somewhere high.

I recommend on trying to only buy your essential things. The things you’ve bought in this video are a really good start. I bought a couple of things before I left to college and I used almost every single item and did not need to buy more than I already had. Plus those who will be freshmen next year, I know you are very excited about entering college but one of the most important things there is to know is how to save as much money as you can. I lived in a dorm the first year, now almost everyone I know, including myself, is moving to an apartment (still less expensive no matter the price and more comfortable)

I remember being super anxious about the whole process of preparing and moving in. I am also a first-generation college student so I literally had no idea what to expect. But enjoy your first year of college because it goes by very fast!

One of my best purchases in college so far has been a desk organizer to put binders, file folders, papers, etc. in! Mine has little inbox and outbox drawers (that aren't labeled) and some vertical storage and takes up less space than it saves me which is fantastic! Also, make sure you keep a file folder or binder of your important documents!! (Paychecks, bills from your university, etc.)

I love my Hamilton Beach Flex Brew for coffee, tea, or oatmeal. It is very slim like a Nespresso, $60 , wide basket for easy refill, and holds a 20oz. travel cup. Ross has cute mugs for $3. Don't forget disposable dishware, disposable coffee cups, snacks, and a first aid kit with cold medicine.

i finished my first semester yesterday (i live in nz lol) and i can tell you that you're gonna have so much fun!! and i also recommend you getting an atmosphere kind of lamp, be it a lava lamp or a lamp full of fairy lights because it makes your dorm feel so comfy!! (and also a fan/heater because it will save your life)

I loved having my electric kettle, I had a keriug for a while but it was honestly easier to cook things with the kettle like ramen and oatmeal and Mac and cheeses because you can control how much water you use I also am not a huge coffee maker, I usually just bought coffee on campus every now and then so the kettle worked out for me but if you’ve got the space you might enjoy having the kettle as well! It’s obviously really good for tea as well

Use command hooks to hang the babe sign! There's clear strips with little silver hooks that you'll barely notice! :)

for the babe sign you can take small command hooks and hook the tall loops on the bs. The command hooks shouldnt leave makiers on the walls.

dang your stuff is so cute! I wish i was this cute and artsy in college haha. luckily, my roommate was the artsy one so she def helped our room always look better than if it was just me. my room now is terrible haha. but yeah, in general, you don't need as much stuff as you think you do. one, there's not a ton of storage so that helps narrow it down. but honestly, you realize you don't need that much stuff or, if you do need it, you can just buy it later. idk though, i never personally cared about what my room looked like, i was jealous of the girls who always have cute decorations, i really suck at that lol. but good luck in college! it'll be the best time, i miss it so much, it's a huge growing period.

Cut a small piece of a command strip and put it on the ends of you “Babe” sign, command strips will become your best friend!! But be careful when taking them off bc I’ve had to paint small sections of my dorm walls bc they CAN damage the wall

Don't go overboard buying ahead of time. Me and my mom made that mistake of buying almost everything and we were so ridiculously cramped in the car for a 12 hour drive and I bought so much stuff and couldn't fit everything since the room was smaller than expected. Only buy things you absolutely think you need or that you cant get near your school before moving in and get every thing else after you've actually seen the room and get a feel for how you want it set up and how big it is. Hope this helps !

erin Moore I don’t think your comment was negative, however the tone could come across as rude as it’s hard to truly determine tone over the internet. At first I thought it was a little early for this as well, but like you said it is her first year of college and you do need a lot more stuff for college than for high school. It’s better to start stocking up now than waiting the week before.

im so excited for u💙💙Don't spend hundreds of dollars on decor because it's honestly not worth it if you think about it because you going to need Necessities such as Kitchen products storage cleaning products and hair makeup products supply throughout the year so spending hundreds of dollars on decor you're probably not going to reuse next year's useless

I lived in a college dorm for one year and I suggest command hooks because you absolutely cannot use nails, screws, tape, stick tack, or tacks.

How do you cope up with your faith, when theres so muvh partying and drinking in college? If you dont participate in it, socialising becomes even more difficult. Great video btw will def use these for my dorm room this year!

Nasreen Adnan it’s more common than a lot of people think to it drink in college. You can go to a party and not drink but you can also not go to parties if it’s not your scene. You can meet people who feel the same way but also meet people who party. For instance I don’t drink, I don’t plan on drinking and I don’t really enjoy parties but some of my friends do. I meet a lot of people in classes, at various places on campus, and through volunteering/ clubs. I’ve gone to bars with people and had iced tea.

Nasreen Adnan yeah, it’s common enough. Nobody would even say anything to you about it, the most you’ll get is someone asking if you want a drink then you just say no and that’s the end of it. I was worried that I wouldn’t have much to do but I was certainly more paranoid than I needed to be. Best of luck.
