Thank you for the ride along highway 41. I was able to see a county road west of highway 49 I need to turn off looks like. Save me from getting rear ended or slowing down traffic behind me tomorrow!
I was there for a couple of months in 1981-82. The only time I ever did something 'for me' was when I hitched this road. Never saw trees so big before up in those hills. Hope Juanita & Pedro are fine. OTHER people ran a 'Chavez Brothers' joke on me in Weslaco.
of all the state routes headed from central valley to the sierras, always considered hwy 49 as the demarcation line between the 'foothills' and the 'mountains'
Born and raised in Oakhurst. I cannot tell you how many times I covered that road either partially or in full over my first 39 years. We left after that and never looked back. Beautiful country but it's still California and nothing is worth living in that s***hole anymore and hasn't been worth it for a long, long time.
Oakhurst is a beautiful town, one I can almost see living in (I'm from Ohio). Then I think about the taxes, insurance costs, and politics, and come to my senses. I'd consider it only if I had FU money.
Timothy, if you're coming from Fresno and as much as me and my family stopped about three and a half hours.... I mean if you're going all the way up to Yosemite Valley
