This appears to be a well thought out tool. What prevents further cutting once the selected cut depth is reached? Does the fret maestro body bottom out on a lower part of the fret? I'm not clear how this is achieved. Cheers.

Set the depth, the file is recessed... when the Maestro body bottoms out to the fretboard the recessed file can no long cut without setting to the next depth of cut

For beautiful crowning , for sure... but for the level, I doubt it.

You can Radius and Crown, but you'd have to use a sanding beam for the level unless there is some edge on both sides of fret. Contact me so you can send me a photo of the guitar in question. sixstringers.com/contact/

Should be exactly the same process whether using this method or the traditional way! A scalloped board makes no difference as the frets are being leveled not the board.

you didnt get that right the fretboard does play a crucial role in the fret leveling as a support otherwise you cant have perfect clones of each other due to no referrence point i posted this question earlier and now i saw that this is discussed here maybe a switch from the malmsteen to a non scalloped fretboard bcse i wanna get a very low setup@@pk952
