My banjo teacher tells me to sit in a 'straight back chair ' while learning. He's quite insistent about it. Not sure when I graduate to the point when I can lean against a stone wall surrounded by chickens, but I dream big and I have my eye on the prize.
That's to keep you from learning bad habits from the beginning. When you get more comfortable with the instrument, you learn that it's not so much remaining bolt upright all the time, you just have to protect yourself from injury. Sounds like you have a good teacher.
Thank you, Miss Phoebles. It sounded fine to me. Toto decided you were sitting on all the best food. "Move!" (peck, peck), says she. A "Cheery Good Day" to Galena as well. Be Well.
Thanks Phoebe I always enjoy seeing and hearing you play. What a great and unique way to bring instruments and people together. Wouldn't ever want to mis you on a Friday. Cheers Edward
Pheobe, I'm not very knowledgeable about banjos. Never even knew there was such a thing as a fretless banjo until I stumbled onto Fretless Friday. I love your performances and your sweet chickens. I'm happy to be the number 100 to give you a thumbs up. Keep them coming. 😉🥰💕
Loved the hat and the overalls! The backup chicken dancers were a treat too! I’ve never been a big fan of the banjo, but watching your videos has given me an interest and appreciation of it! Never knew there were so many different types of banjos. Or the different ways of playing. I’m hooked 😅
I had the same issue with my home studio , I started tearing it apart 3 months ago reorganizing everything , basically getting the artwork up that is inspirational , and positioning the equipment so it sounds the best ,also picking up the conglomeration of wires finally😮.... it takes a creative person to bring inspiration that will pull more music out of us.
Loved it! Not sure if my geese would have... One of them just hatched three goslings (none named Ryan), and the whole flock is protecting them. Hiss and bite and wing flogging if I get too close. I've never attempted fretless. My fingers get confused if I switch fret spacing. Fretless, they'd be fretless and fancy free!
Friday treat - thanks Phoebe. Have you tried any Frank Proffitt tunes? They're built for fretless banjo: Beaver Dam Road's a fun one, not that I'm hinting or anything. :-)
Completely off the wall question from a non-banjo player: Have you ever listened to "Danse Macabre - Bela fleck" on youtube? Is it insanely difficult, or just a fun tune? I have no framework to judge it :-).
River's up and you can't get across River's up and you can't get across River's up and you can't get across Stay with us 'till morning. Water bound and I can't get home Water bound and I can't get home Water bound and I can't get home Down in North Carolina
So where's Phoebe today? It's Fretless Friday again and it's a no show? (Edit) Phew, I was gettin a little worried for a while, it finally arrived. Thanks (Can't do without my fretless Friday!) Lol
Very nice, as usual. Today's video has a very "Farmer in the Dell" look and feel to it. It's funny because RU-vid sometimes puts you in mixes that vary from folk to country, but also sometimes in children's music. I think today would make a great children's video. My grandkids love your chicken videos and were big fans of Ozma. They like to repeatedly watch the one where she knocked over the camera, and each time they laugh hysterically.
I'm not 100% sure why, but Fretless Friday has become an essential part of my week now. There's just something so wholesome and genuine about Phoebe in her garden with a new hat, a banjo and some chickens. For seven minutes, nothing else in the world exists, or needs to.
I'm a fan of the fretless banjo because of you Phoebe. i was wondering if you think it sounds kind of Asian like the Chinese guqin. reminds me of "leaves from the vine" from ATLA
I love your videos, the freshness and naturalness with which you make them and the good vibes you transmit! I'm a fan of blue grass and country music in general! Greetings from Uruguay
You know with all the craziness in this world a bit of Fretlessness helps. After all, we are told to "fret not thyself" several times. Thank you, Phoebe. I needed that. Maybe you should wear some dirtier jeans with feed on them? No? Ok.
Those are hens that lay eggs 🥚🥚... They are Not Roosters, sorry to say.. I have plenty of experience with chickens my self.. Have a great day. 😊😊✝️🇺🇸🤠😀🪕🪕🪕
🎶Fee bee (Phoebe). Fee Bee....The cutest banjo player I ever did see....She dont fret on a Friday when she plays her banjo for you, her chickens and meeee....🎵"
