About 10 years ago a friend of mine died and several kids were terribly injured, in a drunk driving accident on the way back from a Living Legends concert. My buddy was quite well known and loved throughout our community so it was a big loss for lots of us. Living legends got wind of what happened and came to our local community center and did a show in memory of my friend. About a week later Murs came back to that center to do a solo set, there must have only been like 150 people. Small show. I went up to Murs after the show and extended my thanks to him and the whole living legends crew for coming to show us their fans that they cared about what this little community was going through and how much that meant to me. Murs reached out gave me a fist bump and then pulled me in and gave me a big hug, thanked me graciously for supporting his music and asked me about my friend. We talked for about 10 minutes as if we were buddies. He asked questions, and we had a conversation. Ive been to nearly a hundred shows and met dozens of artists, but Murs is by far the most genuine celebrity i have ever met and i will always have mad love for who that man is as a person as well as how good he can rap. 💯
