I prefer your playing to John Mayer's. Number one most expressive player I've ever heard. Keep up the great work. (love from Newcastle)

your attack is so smooth. when you dig in your get all the good and none of the harsh. all these pedals help but that is a wonderful skill. great playing!

Great video, love the Bluesbreaker and KOT, also you have very intrigued by the compressor. I have been using the KOT in the loops of a Boss es-5. I would highly recommend the switcher for a small travel board. Cheers

Cornwall Guitar Lessons Do you use more than 5 pedals with the unit? I have one, and a Voodoo Labs PX8 plus and while the Boss is great, the extra loops on the PX8 have me favouring it. ES-5 seems aimed at MIDI users

Love your playing, your style..and your articulation with words is just as good as your music. Thanks for the inspiration, Chris! If you guys make it to the USA, count me in for a mini tour! You all would do well in the southeastern states. Tennessee and Alabama. Nashville and Birmingham for sure!

Great tones, touch and playing! If I may ask, I hear a nice reverb on most of your videos. What is the source of the reverb? Thanks!

Cali + KTR is my favorite of the combos you've shown... actually, since a few videos ago. Breaker + KOT also sounds killer.

Seems like all of your gain is pretty light...mostly clean sounds (which all sound great). Have you tried the Greer Lightspeed? Seems like that would be right up your alley. I might've missed it, but can you say what this board is running in to? There is some reverb and I'm curious if it's going in to an amp or direct. Thanks!

Great looking n' sounding board and fantastic playing! just found your channel and digging it a lot! One question coming to mind - noticed you've got fair bit of reverb going outside the board, would be awesome to hear what is your approach to reverb in live situations / band context i.e. do you use it live (from amp maybe) and how much if any (in comparison to delays)?

Am I seeing this right, 11 drive pedals that barely sound different from one another? That’s a tweakers ‘board for sure! ; ) Great playing though!

Probably a good idea to have the tuner buffer on , as it's just before the gigrig??. Also why not having chorus, reverb and delay in FXloop using 4 way method??

1st off, great video and awesome pedal board. You're a very talented player and I really enjoy listening to your style of playing. Myself, a guitar player of 44 years, main guitars are a 1986 Les Paul Custom and a 2001 American Deluxe Stratocaster. Amplifiers are a 1976 Fender Twin Reverb I purchased new and a Marshall 50W Plexi with a Marshall 2x12" cab. I do understand your use of the pedal board, I've had half a dozen over the years. That being said, as of late I have only been using my Fulltone OCD and a EH Holy Grail Reverb. I would really love for you to do a video of just playing straight through the amp or maybe a OD unit, keeping it super simple and focus on how much tone you can achieve from just your amplifier settings. My Fender Twin is crazy clean with tons of headroom, but my Marshall Plexi is an entirely different animal able to really respond well to picking nuances as well as the guitar's volume knob (as you so graciously have demonstrated in a past video). Just an idea, would love to hear you playing with less of everything else and more of you. Great videos, great channel, thank you and please keep it up.

Great tones. If you have to have a smaller travel size board without using anything off of this board what would you use. Small board like a metro 24 by 8?

Enjoyed this vid Dude great bird and pedals!! Do you think there is anything wrong with running a compressor into a heavy ish overdrive into a clean boost for solos? I love doing it when I do the Big solo thing but keep questioning whether it’s too much!!

Since you touched on weight and airline restrictions, could you go over how you transport your guitars when you travel? I think that would be very interesting, and I'm not sure if you've gone over that before. Not many RU-vidrs do

Great pedal board build bud :D amazing sounds. For that echorec pedal, can I suggest a volume pedal between the delays and drives :D? You should be able to achieve the trails quite :) Might be pointless advise though seeing as you have finished the build :p.

Is the trails issue with the Echorec an actual fault or an undocumented design feature?

Dude, if you're a fuzz guy looking for tone and convenience, check out the Lovepedal White Dragon. It's kicked all my other fuzzes arses, no contest. It's got a ge rangemaster circuit in there, idk if that suits you. I still have my two Muffs, but that Lovepedal is an absolute ripper. You're a good player, nice set up. Sell me your Katana! Lol

To get rid of the trails, open the back and change the bottom switch from BUF to TB (True Bypass). Great RU-vid from Catalinbread entitled Unlocking Echorec Secrets - Including Fuzz Settings. I hope this helps.

Perhaps, but it doesn't sound like a spring verb at all to me (edit, no I think you're right, there's a bit at 18:04 where I can hear the springs. Very airy and 3D for a spring tank, he must be using two amps miked in stereo)

The Catalinbread's trails mode shouldn't work like that. When it's in Bypass mode with Trails, you should only get the pre-amp, not the delay. Something wrong with the pedal.

Absolutely agree. I have 3 different delay pedals that have a trails setting and I use all of them that way. None of them do what your pedal is doing. Catalinbread makes dialed in stuff - I’m sure it’s misbehaving.

Curious as to the thought process behind the placement of the compressor. It appears to be after some drive pedals and before others. How did you choose the placement?
@ChrisBuckGuitar
@ChrisBuckGuitar 6 лет назад
I can appreciate it's a bit idiosyncratic! haha. Honestly, there's not too much reasoning other than that's how I first wired it up and that's how I've become accustomed to it sounding. It gets used so often that it made sense for it to be in the Quartermaster and I also only ever really use it with the KOT (I did an A/B before and after and preferred before...) and modulation, so its placement makes sense in that respect, at least to me. That said, I can't really explain why the BB1 is before it! Again, that's how I've become accustomed to it sounding :)
