The lyrics at 4:50 add an interesting element to the "dark reflection" aspect of 'Yourself'. It seems to be referencing how Boyfriend looks so confident all the time - he smirks at his opponent for the whole song, even here. 'Yourself' clearly lacks that same confidence, hence he has to scream for validation in his lyrics.

It's honestly pretty neat seeing a faker-type entity that's not inherently malicious; he's just a guy been through hell and back. -He's not too openly hostile, he willingly initiates the song on his own terms -Transforming into a shorter version to mimic original BF could possibly be attempting to be more approachable/relatable to his counterpart -It does seem heavily evident that his GF has passed, and he just wants someone to be proud of his perseverance: his late GF, original BF, maybe Divide, maybe even us as the viewer Objectively, this being his debut in song might very well be his 'first ever opportunity' to present to the world how far he's come.

For those who don't know, Yourself is not an evil or stalker-ish version of bf. He's a version of bf who lost gf (know as Herself) in an accident of which we have no idea what could be. His sang words are not for bf but for her.

With the context in hand, I see this whole bizarre battle as Yourself warning BF to never take for granted GF, or else he’ll lose her like they did Herself. Because once they get to the lyrics, I felt the absolute sadness and desperation the doppelgänger was pouring out. It wasn’t toward BF, but to Herself (and the original creator, may he rest in peace). But that’s all just my POV.

4:50 basically yourself, it looks like he sings to BF, but in reality he is not, because Billy sings to his GF,In some mysterious way he lost her because he sings his pain and see how he sings to his GF. So, he sings in that way of seeing and expressing how much his loss hurt him, and it can be seen in this minute 5:00 about how it hurts and they sing to their respective girlfriend rest in peace and in memory of the creator who was inspired by this work of art

The fact the animation at 4:50 and the beggining was made in ibispaint X is crazy

what i dont see much people talking about is the faces the icons are making as he gains the cofidence trough the build up of the as he makes it to the lyric song part. it matches the element of a true dark reflection and to put the cherry on top he builds the different tones as the song goes along showing different emotions along the way i love it so much man.

I honestly love how he says, "Oh yeah, Haha." When turning back to normal. Literally, the phrase bf uses a bunch in mods sometimes. Plus he even did the peace sign whilst transforming back. (I love how the replies are just people having brain farts lol.)

4:50 i honestly cannot stop watching this one part, the effort done in this part, the lyrics, the animation, the effects, can't forget to credit the coders for implementing this into the game. holy damn it's like something you'd hear our of a guilty gear, or a metal gear rising soundtrack. his voice sounds so desperate, like he's really singing his GOD DAMN SOUL OUT edit: I'd also like to add something. I didn't read much into Yourself's lore but correct me if I'm wrong. Within the lyrics, it's like Yourself is telling BF about his story and how he's going without the presence of GF. Like he's telling BF to be proud of him for getting this far without GF because he probably knows and is warning BF about the dangers of losing her. "Stay awake, just long enough to see my way." Yourself probably telling BF how he's striving without his GF lol

4:51 Calling out to Herself to show her how far hes come without her. But falters at proud for a sec because hes mourning her. Then grabs at his shirt because of heartache. 5:05 And at this part hes telling her to stay awake as shes dying just long enough to show her his way. And after he says "My way" again, he starts to falter again after thinking of her. You can her his voice breaking or getting close to in some parts like at "How proud you are of me". This aint no faker, this is a man losing his mind without his girlfriend. After the lyrics part, his voice sounds more defeated and sad than before. (I know nothing about this mod because I havent been in the fnf community for a few years. This is entirely my opinion on what his words mean so dont take it seriously.)

This is the peak of fnf. I genuinely can not see something better than this. The song, lyrics, sprites, animation, every last bit. The perfect mod in my opinion, definitely in my top 5.

In the lyrics part, when yourself says "just long" You can hear his voice go from a high note BUT that's actually "herself" That's singing with him, and the red thing that appeared for a second is "herself". Pretty cool right :3

at 4:59 its a nice detail that they make him frown, as if he’s getting saddened by his own lyrics.

4:51 call me dramatic but I wanted to bawl my eyes out when he screamed proud cause DANG. You can hear his saddens and hurt just through the word. And not only that the “long enough” line shows how broken he is. The drums and the beat mixing with his voice with GF’s background vocals is just the cherry onto of this beautiful sundae. Even if this is a silly little mod to others. That line hits oddly home if you truly love music and emotions that come from them. Cause I am still listening to this crap on repeat- like I don’t really fw fnf anymore but DANG THIS HAS ME WANTING TO CRY SING THIS PART-

I know this has been said by like a million people already but the lyrics are so sad considering not just the AU but also Divide's passing. "I'll make you say how proud you are of me, so stay awake just long enough to see my way" "My way" The first line refers to how Divide would be so proud of far this has come. Himself asking to 'stay awake long enough to see my way'. Divide died due to cancer, and he's basically asking to stay awake and alive long enough to see the way he's come now. This also may refer to Herself, aka the girlfriend in the universe, being asked to stay long enough with Himself to see his progress and improvement in mental state because he doesn't think he can make it without Herself.

Theory i saw from another comment section: Yourself was an angel whilst Herself was a demon, the relationship of the two was not approved by the gods so they seperated them by killing of Herself. This caused Yourself to rip his wings off as resentment and he also went insane to the point that he didn't care about his health/body. Though Herself has died, her spirit remained in Yourself's mic. In the impact frame seen between the lyrics long and enough, you can see Yourself having some wings that have holes indicating how it looked like while he tries to rip it off and a red smoke which is Herself's spirit that lives in Yourself's mic. (Note: This is just a theory, not canon/confirmed by the creators) Edit: The wings also could be indicating the death of Divide, the creator of the Yourself.

4:50 For anyone that doesn't know, I saw this on another comment somewhere, about how Divide died from cancer in his sleep. And someone saw this character divide made, so they made this mod. And lyrics are about how proud divide is of him. And how he died in his sleep, for him to draw awake just long enough to see his creation. (Pls don't hate on me if you don't believe I saw this somewhere else and it makes sense)

Divide would have been so happy to see their character in action after so much time. I can tell they put so much work into this song just for them. Rest in peace Divide, fly to the highest of highs.

Whoever made this song and the animation are goddamn masters of their craft, like, HOLY SHIT THIS AMAZING. I’m aware that I’m just adding to the “need a full lyric” & “this goes hard AF!” Pile, but seriously this shit is genuinely fucking awesome as hell!! Like, I CANNOT stress about how we a need a full lyric of this shit. And fuck it! I’ll just go ahead and say it! They should be teaching Gordan Ramsey how to cook, because these mad lads CAN COOK!!!! sad fact: Divine (people call him Divine), the one who made a sonic.exe mod once made a sketch of this creepy BF version one day but, the next morning, he did not wake up because during his sleep, cancer beat him. also, the part "ill make you say how proud you are of me" was probably referenced to tell Divine how he made a masterpiece goodbye Divine, and thank you for this mod

Some details i noticed: I think Yourself/Lookalike!BF's constant smile is both a intimation tactic, (like how he trys to use his height) And a way to battle off his own sorrow at his loses. Normal Bf! has confidence. He smiles throughout the song, does his thing, etc, without any fear or hesitation. Pure confidence. 0:01-0:03-- BF is determined, confident, and walking without any fear. 0:06-- Although confused, he's ready for a fight, but that soon ends with his confidence and smugness. (Also shown on his icon) -0:21 Normal!Bf has his hand in his pocket, so does Lookalike, only on the opposite side. Like how it'd be in a mirror. (Ironic, since he comes from a mirror.) Lookalike/Yourself! BF doesn't have that. The creator really nailed the feel of a "Lost/Broken soul" with him. His movements copy normal Bf's, which would pretty much be how he used to be, although he has his own movements, he tries his oldest tactics to try feeling like, well..himself. (Pun intended) 0:19- They both do said peace sign in sync. 2:02- When he shrinks, Normal BF is still smiling, both hands out, and overall still giving off encouraging/confident vibes. Lookalike still has his hands in his pocket, and his stance looks almost afraid/nervous. 2:04- The British finger thing tho🤌 2:35- Lookalikes shoes have (untied) strings, a white front-tip, and he also has a shirt underneath his first one, normal Bf doesn't have strings nor markings on his shoes. 2:57- When Lookalike copies/repeats Bf, he rises back to his prior height, and the notes he sings seem to get faster (to me at least) -Also, if you pause at the right time, Lookalikes leg twists to a full 360, so the front of his foot is FACING him. Basically, backwards leg. However in the next frame its normal. 2:58- The pose reminds me of a stretch a person will do in movies right before rolling their shoulders, cracking their knuckles, and getting down to fight. 4:21- Lookalikes notes go a little slower then Bf's, although itd still be hard to do, its just slightly easier. 4:53- Even when he leans forward, Bf just stands there, looking at him dead-on. Also, Lookalikes ears are sharp, but his teeth arent. Speaking of which, for his appearance, are pretty well taken care of. 5:01-5:03- His left arm does the thing. 5:06-5:07- Hos spine does the thing aswell. Flexibility 100! 5:07-5:16- His left hand keeps his 2 middle fingers still, together, while the rest of his hand is just..there, those 2 fingers are stiff as fuck. 5:31- Something about this pose always makes me think bes gonna put his hands on his knees, bend over, and take a very long inhale of air. (Mainly cause of that longnote) Edit: More stuff. 0:06- The mic has a wire/cord attached to it, but in playthrough neither of the mics do. The cord also disappears when picked up. -Lookalike/Himself! Bf's hair is not only messier, but also a little darker then Normal! Bf's.

This was the final mod before Weekend 1, it feels like a culmination of everything about this dry era of FNF, and I think it's kind of beautiful Divide got to be that send off.

heres my little theory: the lyrics to his little song he sings is what he said to his gf during whatever accident happened to her while she was dying. think about it, it makes sense. like if you were just rambling to your loved one while she was dying, what he said makes sense. the first part of his song says "ill make you say how proud you are of me" which in my mind is like what a desperate person would say while trying to save someones life. like "oh ill make you proud, so just stay awake" you get what im sayin?

So something I noticed was that during the "Just long enough to see" He voice gets a higher note (yeah I know it sounds like Im copying other people) But when that red thing (sorta like "herself") comes out of him the background gets brighter

I was a fan of the original game but never stuck around long enough to deviate from that and find the mods, but what I see from the outskirts has been absolutely stunning. The characters, the stories, the art behind it all, people making their own games, the *communities* . It’s unlike anything I’ve seen in a while for a game community and the few mods I have seen have blown be away AND THEYRE FROM SOME YEARS AGO ANYWAY. I also am hearing that one of the creators of this mod or someone around it has passed and unfortunately I don’t know much about them but I offer my condolences and it seems so many people do too which goes back to my point of the community being great and really caring for the other people involved. I hope the game keeps on going and I hope more people feel the spark to put their own take out into the world.

Yourself had been watching Boyfriend for years seeing how amazing his life is, unlike his as Yourself seems like the opposite of Boyfriend. Somehow, Yourself managed to lead boyfriend here and now he can finally force boyfriend to suffer as much as he did, quote un quote "His way"

Kinda wish they did an extended version where the main GF shows up, causing main BF to gain an upperhand while "Silly Billy"/"Yourself" precedes to stumble his lines for seeing his dead GF in her. Ending with a sad yet sweet moment of "Yourself" finally mourning "Herself". Being all "I Just.. Miss her so much..." Followed by her spirit fully manifesting from his fallen mic and saying to him "I never left you, My love"
