You literally described me. I didn't look at any leaks or post on Twitter. I unfortunately saw a single image of "Starved Eggman" but I had no idea what it was. Never knew there was drama going on either until today
It's almost been a year since the original first released. The 2.0 build was really good, and now it ends here with a cancelled build. At least it'll be a mod to be remembered for the history books of FNF mods, along now with those new songs & especially that classic Triple Trouble song.
Honestly, they could've ended the mod at the 2.0 update and I would've been perfectly content. That update basically raised the bar for all FNF mods to aspire to. And I'll always be greatful for that.
the love letter that this mod was and it's journey from start to finish will set a precedent for the rest of the fnf community that will never be topped. rest well, team

So sad to see that this mod was cancelled. It's the first FNF mod I've followed from start to finish, and seeing it do nothing but improve and raise the bar in every single aspect was so cool to see. On top of that, the amount of references to Sonic media from both the official games and Sonic fan media alike was always so fun to look into and learn about. I was introduced to so many cool characters, stories, and games. What an amazing mod this was. Sending love to the team involved and people like you who shared it in the first place.
As someone who was a friend of one of the developers, it’s sad to see this Update be cancelled. Would have been an amazing Update. By the looks of it there was so much more content supposed to be added, and with just this unfinished version it’s already showing. My respect for all the people involved in this.

Sad it got cancelled, it was one of my personal favorites. I am happy for the team for choosing the decision they made though, Working on a mod for hours and hours takes time and it's understandable as a sprite maker, glad we got the unfinished build to see what they were working on!
It's a pity that the mod was cancelled, as it looked like it was going to be the best of this year, but well, it's understandable, for all that the team members had to go through and who knows, maybe in the future other people will continue with this mod and I hope those people will do it well and with good intentions.
@@invalidusername3399 I hope so, although I doubt it, since lately there were many leaks of mods, including these two, as happened with Indie Cross, but well, at least I hope that these two mods do not have many leaks and also that it is known who do these things.
@@CROWficial Maybe, but it would be too much work and I think the best thing is that they finish fixing and polishing this incomplete mod and that at least some of the old modders help them, of course, if they are willing and there is no pressure to help.

Overall I really don't think this mod is going to be completely dead. The devs deserve a break, but especially being one of the biggest names and mods in the community, I don't think it's wrong to hope for more from EXE, and similar characters others make. Remember, fan projects, references in other mods, all exist. :) He ain't gone, and who knows, maybe we'll see more unique mods for individual characters too. The devs definitely deserve a respite, but it's not all negative, yeah? Big respect to the devs that were working on the project or still would be working on future things. Take care, all.
The devs have said that the mod is completely cancelled and they won't be returning, so it's doubtful it will continue. Fans CAN probably continue it themselves (likely with permission from the devs) but it's more likely spin offs will be created instead.
We had a lot of good mods that where cancel and it's sad to see are killing spread hedgehog go but it was cool mod to play and see how talented each of the developers worked and show to everyone I'm going to miss that blue killing machine
I love how "you cant run" chart is completely different and after the pixel part sonic.exe is mad with different style Sad the mod got canceled but the devs definitely deserves a break for making this great mod

As a person who doesn't really like the FNF community i still come back for creations like this the only problem is the leakers so really every good FNF mod is being ruined meaning i can't see them at their fullest
I sincerely hope the devs take as much of a break they can. The team has gone through a lot and I wish them the best of luck in the future, whether they come back to the mod or not. All I want to say is thank you for a very very memorable mod. One of the best. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And the saddest part is that there is no animation for sonic exe in too slow. I understand why it isn’t finished but I’m still kinda sad.
TRULY this is one of the best mod send offs for such an extraordinary mod! This mod has gone such a long way. Everyone on the sonic.exe team really do deserve this break! Even though everyone’s bummed that the mod has been cancelled, The fun will forever be endless!
Real shame that this mod gotten cancelled as it looked like it was going to be one of the greatest mods of all time, even beating 2.0. I tried really hard not to spoil myself due to all the leaks, among typical FNF drama, and of course it ends up being shelved. Oh well, least there's this to cope with on what could've been.
I have 3 things to say about this mod: 1: This mod is amazing! Everything in this mod is perfect! Too bad it was cancelled... 2: Take a break, devs, you deserve a break after doing something so good and that took so much work. 3: Rest in peace, blue devil.

I admit it hurts It hurts that so much effort and months of work end up unfinished. it hurts to wait so long to end up disappointed, it hurts to know that the team doesn't want to see more of the mod, but listen making a mod is easy, making a good mod is hard, and making a mod that exceeds expectations for an update that revived an entire community makes you want to die. MarStarBro, RightbustU, and the whole team had that weight on them with this mod, some of them retired before actually, and that they canceled it is a relief for them Do not harass them for canceling it, and do not cry for a mod either, raising expectations is never good, especially in this case, remember that this is not a company, they are a smaller group of random internet artists, not only for that means that the project goes ahead. The point is that as much as you may have had such HIGH expectations with the mod, remember that this modding thing is delicate, complex, exhausting, and even controversial. miracles can happen like Indie Cross, or disasters can happen like Vs Mouse 2.5, in this case the 3.0 build is very good and I consider that a miracle, obviously it is incomplete but compared to 2.0 it is an improvement. If you're still sad about it, I'm afraid you'll just have to accept it, that's life
Vs Mouse 2.0 was a CATASTROPHE. The only actually good song (That is, in comparison to the others) was Insanity Psychosis out of all things. The INSANE glowup in comparison from 2.0 to 3.0 is quite literally mind boggling! Shows that every mod can be good if the devs just put some effort into them. (Another disaster for example, is Dave and Bambi. God are the songs horrible. The charting on some of them is also comparable to that of MFM)
Well perhaps someone else will step up to finish what they started. and if not, I'm ok with it. this was a great final sendoff for the mod, and they managed to revive a whole community.
Very sad to hear that the mod got canned, but on the bright side, we at least got access to the build the dev team provided.. even when its an incomplete build, I'm happy the devs get to relax after the focus on this mod.. because their amazing work wont go unnoticed, complete build or not! 😊 Also @CommunityGame , how did you unlock Fatality? I really enjoy some of the new songs and I wish it was finished, but what we have is absolutely amazing and shout out to all the devs working on this before it was canceled, I wish we could’ve saw everything at the same time all finished and polished, but I’m happy what they gave us

The mod is gonna be pretty hard for me to let go, but I’m grateful this mod even exists in the first place and I’d like to thank the devs for making one of the most high effort mods in fnf history and they definitely deserve a long break. Massive respect to the exe team and I wish the best for them.
I am utterly heartbroken that it got cancelled, but at least the devs can catch a break that they deserve. If they just release the source code, then… they’ll be doing us and themselves a favour, for the community would finish off what the devs started. While mods are important to the FNF community, you got to remember that mental health is more important. Besides, they are just like us. Obviously, I’m disappointed that it had to end like this, but it was worth the wait while it lasted. R.I.P. to one of the best FNF mods ever. It may be gone, but it’ll never be forgotten, ever.
I remember being so sad when this was cancelled, I almost cried. This mod brings back good memories (the update that remastered all the songs I remember playing it during class hours and being funny) I moved country so making new friends was very difficult for me. I remember that on the first day of school I attended, I drew Sonic exe and bf on the last page of my notebook.This led to a strange chain reaction that made me have friends out of nowhere and I remember that in 2022 I was in love with Lord X and Majin Sonic. All I did was talk about vs Sonic exe and that for some reason gave me friends and even a girlfriend.Even that Christmas of 2022 I received a Sonic exe plush that I love with my life. Thank you very much Sonic exe, thank you for your mod, everything is beautiful and beautiful.
All I can say is kudos to MarStarBro and the entire VS Sonic.Exe team! Even though it's unfortunately fallen into the tragedy of cancelled mods, this is one of the most impactful and impressive FNF mods to date. Massive thanks to everyone involved! Y'all deserve a rest!🙏🏻
This whole situation reminds me of sonic megamix, the devs cancelling the project, an early build of the game releases. The only part that is missing is that the devs go on to do great things in the future, and who knows? Somebody later down the line might revive the project in some way I hope MarStar & co can rest easy now
Unfortunate that this was cancelled but hey, they can always pick up on it again in their own spare time whenever they feel like it, they deserve a break, from both the work on this mod and the drama between their team.
im not too upset about this honestly im glad with what we have especially the starved content since he's my favorite out of the bunch, love both of his songs and how well they represent his story. all i can say is its been a crazy 10 months from where it started and where it ended. tons of loves to the devs yall are absolute legends, yall deserve a huge rest for the amount of effort and dedication. tons of love and best regards
I like how after the 8-bit part of YCR sonic.exe’s face expression changed indicating that he’s getting angrier, I also like how they added animations for the scream and the “JUST DIE” thing at the end
It was expected after the revie incident that this would be the outcome of the mod plus all the stuff they wanted to do in, the poor management in the team and also the weird decisions in character roster, but what was made is still very good and lovely. Now I hope that any other mod that comes after this learns from the mistakes that vs exe did and avoid something like this to happen again.
There was another mod in the wiki's hall of fame (HoloFunk) that updated around the same time as .exe 2.0, which also recently had to call off a bunch of upcoming content and delete some pre-existing content back in March for similar reasons. Thankfully, it was all story stuff that hadn't been translated into playable content, so the next update's still trucking along nicely with a much healthier dev team than .exe. It and Martian Mixtape did what .exe didn't: recognized when content creep was starting to appear and took countermeasures to prevent it from weighing down on the team. (There's also some indication that the old direction of the mod bordered on exploitation of an IRL controversy outside of FNF, but that requires a lot of unpleasant knowledge to put two and two together on that front. It is painfully obvious once you _do_ know, though, and is the actual reason I eventually gave up defending the old story.)
I can’t believe we lost another amazing mod. So many mods are getting cancelled. We lost: Sunday night suicide, tails get trolled, entity, and now sonic.exe? What is going on? Why are all these amazing mods getting cancelled?!
id love to see the finished mod. i know the devs need a break for the huge amount of work put into this. i hope maybe one day they will come back to finish it
Man I'm still super upset that this mod got cancelled, this mod was one of my favorite fnf mods and seeing it getting cancelled made me really mad, upset, and disappointed all at the same time, if the leaks never happened this mod would've never been cancelled, at least they actually released the update even if it's unfinished
Apparently Mistful Crimson Morning wasn't cancelled, they released the full mod the other day, and there is a tweet about it from the official mod creator.
It’s cancelled. They just wanted to complete it before they abandoned it. When a mod is cancelled it basically means it’s no longer in production and or is deleted. So we are left with either builds like this unfortunately or a complete version but there will be 0 updates later on. But I along with others have to respect their choice and it’s for the best. They put so much effort into something they did for free. Sad to see it go since it was my fav mod but it’s for the better.

It almost did get cancelled due to leaks. We were suppose to get the update months ago but they lost motivation working on the mod. Last I heard they are still working on it, but very slowly due to the annoying leaks.
probably one of the best mods in fnf modding community. its real sad to see it cancelled especially with how good this build is and i think it had a lot of potential but its probably for the best anyway because of whats been going on behind the scenes.
I seem to be one some kind of duality of this. Considering Saster says that the unfinished build is no where close to the finished product, makes me wonder what it was gonna be. But my duality.. On one hand, it is really sad to see one of the most anticipated mods cancelled and shelved with this somewhat husk build to be left with. Just a memento of what it could've been. The devs definitely deserve a rest however, my only hope is that maybe... in... couple of months, they can pick it up again, though that is unlikely as some said they aren't returning to the mod and "just let it die." But then my issue with this is if leaks are part of the reason. I feel like if the cancellation was due to the leaks, then that's kinda... eh?? I mean you see leaks all the time for video games, and that won't stop them. Some leaks are even for mods not just FNF, and they keep going. If this mod was cancelled with the leaks being a part of it, then that sounds kinda lame. There's people, and a lot of people, who don't read leaks either due to spoilers or because of the rule of "taking it with a grain of salt." If they really want to avoid leaks, then they could've just... not tease anything at all and probably just have occasional text tweets of how the project is going. So yeah my take on this situation is really a double sided coin. I understand the mod being cancelled due to the development hell the makers had to go through for this and they deserve the break. I do hope the developers can move on to other projects that is in a somewhat same reminisce of EXE. Godspeed, you talented developers.

I had to expect a mod like this to be cancelled. Well, at least, the build was pretty nice. I hope someone continues it but if not, the mod did definitely give us pretty memories. Like one man told me “don’t cry because its over, smile because it happened”.
Hope the devs has their good breaks, this mod is really good, they really put alot of effort to this, but now it ends here with a cancelled build. It was a good journey :)
Honestly so sad that this mod got canceled since other mods have also been getting canceled left and right. I just wish things could've gone more smoothly for the team so that we could see the true finished product.
another example would be sonic rhythm rush which was also canceled due to lack of developers and now sonic.exe 3.0 is also canceled due to several leaks that they didn't want the public to see

my final thoughts on this mod Version 3 had a lot of potential but unfortunately it was clouded by many things .Overambition: there was like going to be. Like 50 new songs holy crap and they were going to do reskins and remixes of other songs that's just crazy .Drama: the multitude of drama definitely hurt the Sonic.exe dev and the teams mental state The amount of OC in it: it felt like anytime a exe was created by a developer they just had to add that no matter how out of place it may feel. Leaker: leakers have become a major problem in the fnf community first Hypno then Wednesday infidelity and now. Sonic.exe For me personally I stopped caring when all the characters that were shown or confirmed for the mod we're just random OC. I like the Sonic the exe mod because it was about the cool and werid stuff in the Sonic fan base and franchise. I thought update 3 was going to continue that but it didn't it just became the self-insert mod. I do hope the team is living there life well they deserve a break so thank you .exe team.
I feel like the OCs could have been fine if they really wanted it by doing something like All of it is about the main .exe mod characters that we had so far, but with one big song that has all the OCs, that way the people who came for the original mod they liked could've gotten it, and it would also solve the crazy amount of songs issue. Sure, it might have been a bit messier, but at least it would leave the mod as what it's meant to be, and wouldn't force all these OCs on the fanbase.
To be honest it’s a bit sad that the mod isn’t finished but I’m glad that the creators left in what they finished plus fans of the mod are making fanmade finished versions so I think soon the mod will get finished
I don't care what anyone says, for me this is one of the best mods with the most effort and amazing songs from the FNF community. It really makes me very sad to know that one of my favourite mods is canceled forever, and that they will no longer work on it. There was so much potential, but it was ruined, why? because of the leaks, drama and more. The devs also have a life outside the internet, and they will not be working on the mod 24 hours a day. If people hadn't put so much pressure on them and had been patient, and hadn't taken out so many leaks, we would have the final product. I really hope that the whole team rest well, because damn, they really deserve it. All their work on this amazing mod will be appreciated. Thank you VS Sonic.EXE, for created such an impact on the FNF community and for being one of the best mods out there.

Well I am so sad to see this amazing mod was canceled I am happy they released the build atleast man I hate how toxic this community can be maybe if different choices were made they could be making the full mod and I hope this can be a learning experience for everybody even though it was cancelled I am happy they released the build because it is epic
Honestly the way the Fandom developed is why I have only lurked. I thought about getting involved but shied away. I don't reget this cuz I do appreciiate the amazing work but I worry the fandom will burn itself to the ground.

hilariously enough, Fight or Flight actually invoked some level of fear out of me. Out of all the Exes to exist, Eggman's Exe is the one that actually gives me some level of fear. Ironic.
This mod is amazing, the build 2.0 is amazing, one of the bests around there and I still hear the musics. I understand the developers' decision and I have nothing to say to them but a "thank you".
Sonic.exe mod was one of the best mods in the fnf community It was rlly fun to watch, seeing it cancelled is probably one of the most disappointing news ever, I give my thanks to the devs and everyone who worked on the mod and I hope you know that you made a-lot of ppl happy with this mod - random kid on the internet
This mod was honestly the best mod ever I really hope when the developers come back they try to finish this.. but it's sadly unlikely. For now let's take time to enjoy the rest of the fnf mods and what they had done before canceling
