In the beginning I was no football fan by any standards but I have to say that if anything FNL made me not only love the series but also sprung some interest into me about learning more about football.
Huh, interesting. I love this show so so much. But if I know any more about football now than before I started watching it (in 2005!), I could fit it in a thimble. But I like to think that just proves you don't have to know or learn the game to love the show. I do agree it'd have to be a plus, though. My former husband used to try to teach me, but unlike with other sports, I just.....I don't know, couldn't/didn't learn.
@@rocknroll7065 How much do you think I'm missing not knowing the game? I've watched the show probably a dozen times over the years and have learned virtually nothing about football. I've always wondered how different it'd be if I knew the game.
God, i love this show so much... and every time Matt played, i rooted for him to be THE BEST quarter back ever. Something about him always moved me and i felt like he wasn't appreciated enough.
@@BigWilt2000 Hahaha, I think he means Breaking Bad. I don't care for arguments about "the best" this or that. But I agree that FNL is one of the great TV shows.
Well, to anyone reading this: You can rewatch and you will see things you never noticed the first time around. It's more layered than you might realize if you've only seen it once. It's truly amazing. Also, if you don't know, most of the dialogue is improvised.
***** I felt a similar way until I started to near the end of season 5. Really didn't like the whole season 2 rape thing too much or the on again off again Street and Layla thing. I do like season 1-3 for the character group though.
Clever stuff and a really fitting tribute to an amazing show - great acting and writing. That aside, Taylor K has never looked more beautiful than when he's being interviewed during this. The man is stunning.
damn i miss the shit out of this show idk why they ever stopped they had enough at the end of the last season to spark up new ideas and keep the show going forward but apparently that isnt happening
***** No, it wasn't that the storylines and plot got the Friday Night Lights cancelled, it was the viewership. Friday Night Lights averaged about a million viewers an episode. And I really do wish there were more seasons. FNL is one of the best television series ever. Read up on this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_Night_Lights_(TV_series)
The absolute BEST series I have EVER watched!!! How many seasons will there be? I have watched 5 seasons and I was so so sad when it ended!!! I cried, laughed and felt so drawn into it! Will there be anymore.....PLEASE!!!!???
Why do I feel like crying? Gah! How cool would it be if they brought FNL back? I hope they do. They're bringing Gilmore Girls and Full House, maybe FNL will get a shot eventually...
As much as I love FNL, I never really felt that way. Not that they couldn't have made it work; they probably could have. But I didn't feel like it was cut off too soon.
LOVE this Singer/Songwriter, Greg Laswell! He's form my "Hometown"! If you dig this track, the rest of his art/work is just as good, if not better! All have to admit, "Friday Night Lights" really had/has/features some great Bands/Singer-Songwriter and music overall! I can't believe I missed this show while it was on the air... BUT, thanks to Netflix I'm already into Season 4, after JUST starting to watch about 5 days ago! "Just CAN'T put it down Y'all!" :)
So glad you found it. I did watching from 2005, but it doesn't matter when you find a great show; it's finding it that matters. I don't know a lot about music, but I always had the feeling that they sought out really great bands and singer/songwriters as you say. Also, anytime there was a band in the story, it felt real, like an actual local band. But I don't know if that's true.
@@nspector Hey! Thanks so much for the reply! I forgot I had written this, but thanks to you, I was able to come back to this!!! I agree with your sentiments, and thank you again for your reply/post!!! Hope this find you well! 🙌🏼🤙🏼😀
@@pears0094 Oh, I'm so glad you saw what I wrote. Didn't really expect that after 7 years! Ahh, ha, it just sunk in how fast you were watching the show back when you wrote your comment. Makes sense, of course. It's an amazing show. I'm re (re re re re!) watching it right now. ❤
You're right that this promo makes it feel a little hokey and ordinary. But I think it'd be very hard to show the realness of all the tiny interactions between characters in a spot like this, you know?
I couldn't get into the TV show because I didn't like the movie, so I never actually watched it but now on one of the streaming movie apps I watch all 5 season's and like most people I wished they would have continued with more season's. Figures once I like a show they discontinue it!!!
I love FNL, but it's a very schizophrenic show. The first season is terrific, then the second is really really silly. Then comes the third (my favorite), incredibly beautiful, but the fourth is a bore, because I couldn't bring myself to care about the new characters. And finally the fifth, which's kind of a mixed bag for me: I still don't care about East Dillon, but in the end, all that matters are the Taylors.
Yeah, interesting. I wouldn't go quite as far as you do with the negatives, but at times I've felt a bit like this. Other times I do care about East Dillon. I rewatch a lot, and it just depends on who knows what.
@@nspector wow it’s been ten years since my comment ! Haha I might like East Dillon better now ? I don’t know. I could see myself enjoying a bit more Vince and, to a smaller extent, Jess. From what I remember I still think Luke, Becky and Hastings would be a chore to sit through. And certainly the non-Matt Julie scenes. But Eric and Tami are the best screen couple, always and forever
@@Eu553ify Ah, you saw my comment. Nice! I know what you're saying, for sure. And YES: best screen couple ever. So great that they showed that a happy couple is not "boring."
Friday Night lights is one tree hill with football and a better director and cast. I like the motion picture better. I hope you all know the saying "clear eyes full hearts" was adapted from the speech at the end of the movie right? Does this show even explain why you the players should have clear eyes and full hearts? What are they filling their heart with?
Ha, I'm not totally sure what you're saying, but the show is not made like this at ALL. There were virtually no sets -- almost all on location including interiors which is very unusual, and very little non natural light. Also, much of the dialogue was improvised. It's an amazing and incredibly down to earth show.
Eh I only watch FNL for the Hot guys( Matt, Tim, Luke, JD, Billy, Jason) that's pretty much the reason I watch any movie or tv show. Try to find the hottest guy. :)
hobbysonfire She's ok. There are far worse. I mostly jate how she doesn't have her own story. What happened to her dancing? She just became the girlfriend and rebellious teenager. They didn't know how to write her. She was always the supportive role.
