If this format is basically Kitchen Table Magic, then the Sege's match against Beej is when one person in the group netdecked a deck that won a pro-tour, but doesn't know how to run it.
I want Beej to learn how to play so he can participate in the Friday Night Paper Fight, but at the same time we would lose all the great 'beej doesn't know how to play' meme moments, like naming him off Kindslaver
Beej actually learned how to play! His first draft was a Modern Horizons draft and he (in the words of one of our LRRsmen, not sure who) "crushed it" by drafting a UB deck with snow and ninjas where he managed to get Marit Lage out.
Idea: Beejlander league where every new day you get a new pack and you may upgrade your deck. So the pool grows as the format progresses. There are no eliminations. Winner is whoever has most wins over the course of the league.
Well, our local dollar store does sell (in addition to these $4 100-card monstrosities) $1.50 15-card monstrosities as well. So, you could do it. (Can't use regular packs; they'd be too useful!)
This is unironically my favourite format now. I just went through all my draft chaff to compile a singleton 3000-card from which I'm gonna generate my 100-card packs.
I really want to know more about Ben's tshirt *edit* I also propose an alteration call it enter the Beej Dome where after the competitors make their decks Beej gets to replace 5 cards with ones he likes from puzzle quest
I had no idea this was the beginning of the legendary "Vaseline or Barcode." This video was already fun to watch but now I feel like I've just witnessed history! 2:44:03 to see it for yourself. :)
Genuinely fun format. Me and 5 friends now mash 100 commons/bad uncommons/absolute bulk rares we each bring together, and then do a sealed out of them (and then let the store do what they want with themo. Not quite as random as this, but close.
I'm a Lowlander fan myself, with the possible caveat that it kind of sounds too much like a real format. I think Beejlander kind of has the appropriate level of sillyness to it.
41:19 appreciating control and becoming a control player are different things. Just look at it like you're getting more opportunities to enjoy magic with.
I have started to amass a collection of these packs here in Toronto so that one day I too can host a beejlander tournament.......im serious, I love the surprise and nostalgia of these for sealed, commander and Winston! Such a riot! I have dozens of the the 15 card packs for draft!
@@Arkouchie Once there have been enough dedicated crack-a-pack videos (since I'm not gonna dig through TTC episodes), I'm gonna make a whole six-player cube of those cards. At least, I'd like to
See, the thing about Alluren is that, yeah, it's definitely a difficult deck that rewards knowing it's inner workings inside and out...but it's also just got a bunch of good value creatures that do their jobs very well. So even after I heard what he was playing, I wasn't surprised. Some kind of Academy deck would probably have been way worse.
@@bananamancer I mean, bulk rares are already usually barely playable. Lots of high cmc cards, mostly gold cards, etc. I've done a rare draft, almost everyone winds up in 4 colors
36:20 Feldon's Cane! I probably had eight or so of those sitting around taking up space in my early 2000's collection. Still really sad I gave everything away, but who knew in 2006 that Magic would still exist in 2019?
