Thank you pastor.

Why should any party pay attention to Christian issues when so few "Christians" bother to vote. It is a God-given civic duty to seek to learn about the candidates and the ballot issues and determine what God's Word calls on you to support.

How few bother to vote?

There never has been and never will be a perfect presidential candidate. However, Christians need to select the better of two flawed candidates. This year the differences are very clear. For example on transgender issues and abortion the differences are huge. Christians can profoundly affect our society, but we must vote. Abstaining is just wrong when the implications are so great.

Dr. Mohler you are absolutely NOT out of touch with reality, as the question today implies. People like the Q&A are more than likely out of touch and need to put their children over their careers, or whatever they think is hindering them etc. and homeschool.

This has to be satire. You, Al Mohler, the very center of the group from TGC who pushed social Marxist theology through the support of radicals such as Russell Moore, Mark Dever and Thabiti Anyabwile, wants to now distance himself without an apology without a confession of repentance and asking for forgiveness for the damage he caused for the last decade? Give me a break, Al.

Well said. I do admire Dr. Mohler for many things and completely agree with his comments here, but he does have some "'Splainin" to do.

@@arepadetrigo “some ‘splainnin” is as favorable as one could describe it. And until he does, he will remain legitimately criticized by all around and he certainly is not worth giving a hearing to until he does. Why is that? It is because of the gross compromise for 10 years plus and all of this with TGC and other groups. And rarely does Al allow himself to be subject to criticisms. He is forced to answer outside of a context where no follow up and no pressure can be applied. He does not permit scrutiny. This tells me while he may be a man of academic understanding he has a man if compromise integrity

Suffering is too poetical and philosophical and childish for them. It is like a fantasy, not smart and practical, but fantastic.

1. How Should Christians Think About Details to Include in an Obituary? Response: Don't include anything you wouldn't want in your own obituary. 2. How Should First Time Voters Approach the Upcoming Election? Response: Pray first. 3. Should Christians Vote? Response: Yes, but only once per election. 4. What Are Christian Parents to Do If They Cannot Send Their Kids to Private Schools? Response: Home school them privately or in a network full time, if you can. 5. Can Satan Disguise Himself as Anything? Response: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (KJV): For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. And if the King James Bible was good enough for St. Paul ...

The current political moment reminds me of the culture conflict between the religious Jewish elite and pagan Rome of the first century. The Jews expected a political messiah who would liberate them from the Roman domination and establish the rule of the Jewish law. Rome had given the Jewish religion a place in its pantheon as long as Jews submitted to Caesar as the ultimate authority. Jesus did not deliver a political kingdom to the Jews, yet he was also clear about God’s authority over Caesar’s. He was an idealist. He did not take sides in the culture war of his day but offered a superior solution. He chose the way of the spiritual kingdom over political power. The way of sacrifice and service over domination. The way of relationships over institutions. The way of the heart over the letter of the law. There is much pressure to support a man so morally compromised that some Christian influencers invented the slogan “policy over personality”. For the first time in the history of the conservative political movement, they are saying that character should not matter. He is “flawed”, but he can potentially deliver a little bit of power, control and security, help us legislate morality so that we can “clean the outside of the cup”, give us an opportunity to teach the ten commandments in the public square and dominate the media. But is that what’s best for the kingdom of God? Are laws more important than hearts? Is our comfort more important than our witness? Are physical lives more important than eternal souls? Before you dismiss the importance of character, I challenge you to listen to Trump’s words, “For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks”. Listen to what he says about immigrants, his opponents, his former staff members/advisors who have disagreed with him on his election claims, about Putin, Xi Jinping, Orban & other dictators, about treating women, read his Christmas and Easter posts, think about how he has changed his position from decidedly pro-life to pro-reproductive rights, how he does not shy away from messianic comparisons. Think about how his rhetoric has influenced the church and what it has done to our gospel witness. Think about whether you will have the high ground to judge the moral decline of this nation after dismissing the moral corruption of its leader, especially someone who identifies himself as the champion for Christian values. Pray about it and if you still believe he is worth compromising your integrity for, go ahead and vote out of that conviction, but don’t coerce believers who don’t share your conviction. I am choosing the way of the idealist in this election because I don’t want to compromise my moral integrity, or my witness to my children and neighbors. I trust that God is fully sovereign and good and He can install the right kind of evil in the government to advance His purposes for this nation without me compromising the holiness of His name for the sake of pragmatism.
