Spoon River Anthology! I read excerpts from it in 11th grade English class, but had totally forgotten it until you mentioned it. I may have to get a copy from the library and revisit it. Thanks for jogging my memory!
I’m reading The Sicilian Inheritance and just started A Fever in the Heartland. I just love listening to you two and your biblioadventures. 💕Have a wonderful weekend.
I went to the Isabella StewartGarner museum last summer and it’s incredible. I didn’t get to finish asking thru the whole museum because there was so much to appreciate! I plan on returning. Local libraries typically have free tickets for their patrons, which is awesome!
I live in Central Illinois not far from Petersburg where Edgar Lee Masters is buried. There is a lovely musical adaptation, but I didn't look it up. I have seen it performed twice.
Oh, wow, a musical! If this is the same adaptation, it was on Broadway --> masterworksbroadway.com/music/spoon-river-anthology-1963-original-broadway-cast-recording/
Just finished Exit Ghost by Isabella Hammad for the BT prize. Can't say too much about it till the current finals finish end of May. Also reading Chain Gang All Stars for the prize. Just back from Edinburgh and went to the most fabulous books stores, beyond amazing. Bought The Maiden by Kate Foster and read it while I was there, this was on the Women's Prize long list. Historical fiction Scottish mystery that was great fun to read while in the same locale as the story. Hoping to read Brotherless Night soon (on the womens' prize short list,).
Edinburgh bookstores -- what a dream Biblio Adventure! Your reading sounds amazing. Thanks for being a judge for the BT prize. That is no easy job, even for people who are heavy readers.
I'm so glad to hear my e-reader video was helpful! As i mentioned in my video, I need to upgrade my Kindle (but I'm waiting for Prime Day). What model kindle did you get? I am hoping to get another Paperwhite, but it is like a "nicer" Paperwhite--they have a name for it, but it has gone out of my head. However, I'd be open to other models if people are having success with them.
I got the Paperwhite Signature Edition (32 GB) and am really enjoying it. The only thing I don't like that is different from my old Voyage is that there's not a forward page turn on the left hand side of the screen. I like switching hands, but if it is possible with this new ereader, I haven't found the setting. --chris
