Your dress is very flattering on you, I love the silky fabric and it’s perfect for church! Your hello hello’s are endearing and your channel just wouldn’t be the same without them😁 beautiful tulip garden🌷 The more the merrier 🙏💞
Yes keep your signature sign on hellos. The dress is very pretty on you. Can't wait to see your granddaughter's first communion dress. I wish tulips and daffodils grew here, but it's either too hot or not cold enough in winter. Your tulip garden is so pretty.
I love your double hello! Dont stop being YOU! Linen is such a complimentary fabric to so many body types. You should try making yourself one in linen. As always you look cute as a button in everything you make! Slinky fabric makes everything more difficult in my humble opinion. Your Grandaughter looks adorable with her baby bump! Stephanie I am so glad you are joining up with ASG. We all need a support group of like minded people. You are so funny anout your garden! I’m sure it will surprise you and of course if it doesnt work out, you have your burial plots lol! OMG the tulips! I am so jealous because they wont grow here. What a treat it must be for you to look at those all the time!!!!
Thank you so much!! Yes, I do want to make something in linen, may as well be this pattern. I don’t think I like silky. 🤷🏼♀️. I procrastinated on planting my garden and we had a storm with freezing temps, so I looked smart instead of lazy. Lol. We will plant as soon as this rain is over. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Hugs 🥰🥰🥰
I enjoy watching your videos, listening to your fun and informative conversation, and being inspired by your makes. Please keep the "Hello, Hello" -- it's friendly, it's sweet, it's welcoming, and it's you!
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much. I didn’t even realize I was doing it. I had to laugh when Sherrie pointed it out. Thank you so much for your sweet comment. 🥰🥰🥰
The style and colours of your dress look great but shiny fabric shows everything, and when I wore one to a wedding and saw the after pictures I was so upset as shiny adds pounds 😱 I so enjoy your sharing!
Very cute dress! I agree with you. I think it’s the fabric. I always avoid those silky types…I can’t ever to get those to look good! I’m also very jealous that you have a local sewing group! Love your videos!
Hello, Hello, Stephanie! I love the 2 hello's, that is your signature greeting :) The dress looks fabulous on you! Have a fun trip can't wait to see pictures.
I like the Hello! Hello! and a cup is a great idea. I love tulips, also great to have on the other side of the cup. I wish they lasted longer. Your hubby can take a great pic and then we can have a touch of spring every day.
I look forward to your Hello Hello! Your channel is one of my faves. I'm a newbie, so talking through your thought process helps me with my own consideration for patterns, fabric, etc... Always a nugget!
I love your Hellos! Everything you do makes your channel unique! Nice garden! I'm like you on gardening! Love the green fabric! I have that pattern and I have Voile to make the dress. Voile is light weight fabric such as cotton. (Mine is cotton ) You did great on the dresses. The darts you mentioned for the front will give you some shape and won't be tight as long as you have room in the bust.( full bust adjustment) I'm in love with darts on dresses on wovens because they give me a waist because without them I look big like I am...😝. Thanks for making this dress. Hope you make it again. I want to make the view with the gathers on neckline and sleeves. Happy to see you today! (As far as hemming...I just eyeball it! Ha!!!)
Hi Debi, well now you have me rethinking things. I think I will play around with that dart. And after you mentioned it, I too might like that other neck treatment. It’s different. Lots to think about!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love your "Hello, Hello"! It's so inviting and welcoming into your sewing room and it's YOU! Your tulips are beautiful. I remember the local ASG was very active years ago. It has since dissolved. I hope you share tips that you learn from being a part of it. Love the dress.
I love this dress on you. You should make it again. Your granddaughter is super cute with her little bump! Voile is pronounced like boil except with the "v" it's a French word. Have a wonderful vacation 😊
Your flowers are beautiful can’t wait for mine to bloom they have buds not blooms yet. So jealous that you are going camping next week our first trip is scheduled for 2 weeks.💕 till next time happy camping and fun sewing! And I love your Hello Hello it makes me smile 😊 you definitely need it in a cup.
Our neighbour got rid of one of their raised beds on the front lawn last year. It was about 3 ft wide and 7 ft long. My husband and I joked that we could certainly see where the bodies had been buried. :)
Keep your hello, hello, it is you. Your dress 👗 is cute on you. Voile sounds like VOYAL. Granddaughter look cute too in her dress too. Take care and have fun.
Hello hello. I think you should try the dress again in a linen blend and see what you think. Have fun on your vacation. I was surprised how warm it wasn’t when we went to Northern California in July! Beautiful but not warm.
I love the hello hello ❤ I like the dress.. I think the problem is that the fabric should be more flowy for that pattern.? That's my opinion at least lol I really want to garden! I have a black thumb.. but I think I'm gonna try again this year!😉 Oooh beautiful tulips❤ Have a blessed weekend!
Beautiful flowers! From one pasty white legged girl to another….what’s your preferred sunless tanner! I wish they had one that covered veins! 🤣 I’m jealous…..a ocean side vacation! Enjoy!
I like "hello, hello"! I always say " hey, hey" so I get it. Can't help it ☺️. Voile is sheer fabric used for window treatments and mosquito netting. But is beautiful for flowing garments too. Voile (sounds like boil with a v) is French for veil.😀 Not sure I like that pattern on you... So many others look better and fit you nicer. Love you to pieces though💕. Sorry you weren't happy with the quilt show, you never know what you might like.🤔. Glad you went to see and found the sewers club!👍. See you next time 😜🌄❤️🌹💕🌻. Love your tulips!🌷🌷🌷
Hi Collette, thanks for the info. I agree with you on the pattern. I have truly loved other patterns and I want that feeling again. The search continues. Thanks for watching. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Voile = v + oil. I had to learn that recently because I thought you were supposed to say it "v-wah-el". But sadly, no, no need to get all French and fancy.. Which self-tanner do you use? I like Jergens and I live where I should be getting tan! Like you though - only on my legs. Oh, the tulips - such a beautiful view out of the window as you sew! As for the dress - I think you can do better with that green voile. I have that Simplicity pattern and just have never made it. I've seen it look completely different on a lot of people and I'm just not sure. But it's always good to hear about other's experiences! Now I know what to look for and problems to avoid if I do make it. Definitely do the mugs! "Hello hello" is you!
Hi Jen, Well, I have tried SO many self tanners I think I’m an expert. The one I’m using now is beauty by earth on Amazon, I have a link in my description, it’s smells great and isn’t messy. And the color is really nice. Lasts for days. As for the dress, I think it was the fabric and I should have put in those front darts. I think I’ll have another go with linen. 🤷🏼♀️ Thanks!!! 🌷🌷🌷🌷
Thank you for sharing how to fit patterns on your body still Not there…I use to sun bathe now no I’m afraid of cancer spray tan would be nice. Love the flowers
Oh I think that dress and fabric look adorable and loving the sleeves. When I made that pattern I did the cuff sleeves but those are so much nicer. Re Voile... I think it's pronounced Voyal like royal, well that's what I say anyway 🤣. Re hemming oh dear, I don't really mind too much about a straight hem on something I make for myself even though I have one of those puffers 😂. Am I bad?! Let's hope people aren't noticing and talking about me ha ha. Thanks for the vlog and goodbye goodbye 😆. X🌷🌷🌷🌷
Lol. You had me laughing! I can’t say that I have EVER even noticed anyones hem. 😂🤣😅. I am SO letting that go. I might have to give this pattern another try. 👗👗👗👗
Voile = Vwawhl :) Re your dress, sometimes I find a lovely fabric looks cool on a very young person, but looks aging on a mature woman.Same with the style.. You always look energized and youthful in your fave makes, and I am not sure that this one serves you quite as well. And keep your Hello Hello opening! It is what comes naturally so it makes it YOU :)
I just thought “Hello, Hello” was part of your branding . . . and I like it. The dress is flattering. Don’t know why you don’t like it. But that’s what makes the world go around.
Hi Barbara, thank you! Maybe the best things are accidental, so hello hello will just be my “thing”. 😂🤣😅 You’re right, we al like different things in fashion, I think that’s the main draw to sewing. 🤷🏼♀️ Have an awesome day! 🥰
I made the dress for my daughter in law in a black and white a ditsy floral visco. She loved it. I think the dress looks lovely on you but maybe it’s the brown that is possibly not your colour. We are the same age and I know brown on my top half is not complimentary on me. Oh and the Hello, Hello is a nice warm start to your videos.
The dress looks good on you but if you don't feel fabulous try a different fabric! Your garden is a fortress, if anything gets in there it will be a miracle! I had some nice pansies planted in a pot. Went out one morning, noticed some of the flowers were missing. I thought my husband watered them with the hose....too much pressure. The next morning they were almost gone, darn bunnies had a feast! I was told cayene pepper around the edge of the pot works. Anyway I thoroughly enjoy your videos, don't change a thing!
I have the pattern (for about a year) I love the idea of frills n flounces. I might give it a try. I do love yours. Mmm the squirrels here eat my tulips so annoying. 😂🤣😂 🙌❤️💚💜💙
Well, I think you might be depressed if you didn't say hello hello, it's just so cheery, please keep it!!!! I love wovens, much prefer it over knit. I too joined an asg, I have learned a lot, and you can get some really good speakers to come and do classes. Ok I think I know how to get you to say voile, it's like hole, or mole, just change the first letter. You could ask at your next asg meeting too!! Happy Sewing
I used to have to hem bridal gowns and such and I would tell the person the look straight ahead with both hands down, I’d you lift your arms or look down it will change the length.
I think the dress is a good fit on you, but the fabric is not bright enough for your personality imo. Definitely make it in green. Glad you found a sewing group which isn’t quilts! Oh and keep saying hello hello as I say it in my head along with you😄
Thanks Hales. I think you’re right. I wouldn’t pick that fabric today. I don’t even remember buying it. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ maybe the pattern is worth another go. 🥰
Hi Joanne, my self tanner is beauty by earth and I have a link in my description. I usually let it dry for about 15 minutes and I haven’t had it rub off in my clothes. 🤷🏼♀️. It does sometime get on my towels, but it washes out. It’s so nice for summer, worth a try. 😊 Thank you! 🌷🌷🌷
i feel like removing the shaping around the waist makes the dress more nightgown-y plus i'm not a big fan of satin fabric either. maybe give it another try in linen and perhaps you will like it more? i made one last year and i love mine but i used a rayon crepe.
Hello Hello First, I love your channel. I had a small tablet that wouldn’t let me comment but now I have an IPad so here I go…lol. Don’t lose the 2 Hellos… It’s so you. Next, there is a lovely girl in England, Kittenish Behaviour is her channel and she does a lot of sew along tutorials and she always let’s her dresses or skirts hang for two days at least before she hems them to let the material “settle” as she calls it. Then she actually measures front and back to see if one is longer and then she hems it. If you don’t do that give it a try. It might make a difference. See what happens when I can comment… Does the name “Chatty Cathy” come to mind… lol
May I ask what self tanner you use? I’m so pale that most tanners don’t work out well. I end up having very white feet! Lol! I can’t wear the fabric your dress is made of…gives me the heebee geebees.
Hi Susan, well, every time I find a good self tanner, they quit making it lol. Last summer I must have tried 6! I found one I love on Amazon. I put a link in my description. As for the fabric. Well I wore it today, and I am with you. I was not comfortable. Next!! 🤷🏼♀️🥰👏🏻
I like the dress on you, but If you are not sure about it, Can you send it to your Grand daughter and have her test it for you while she is pregnant? She might be able to tell you if the slinky fabric is okay.
