One of the most popular and respected scientists in the country is Vilmos Csányi Csányi, an ethologist and biologist, who writes in his book "My dear friends, dear monkeys - Animal one-liners", "The dog is man's special animal - not yet a man, but no longer an animal". The professor has undoubtedly spent many decades studying dogs in depth, so what he doesn't know about our four-legged pets no longer exists.
In 2013, we asked Vilmos Csányi to talk about dogs for a full programme, but to illustrate his point, he brought along his favourite puppy, then three-month-old Janka. And so he did, only Janka didn't put up with the rigours of studio recording for long, setting off on an adventure of discovery rather than caring for her original purpose. But of course, this interlude did not prevent us from discussing with Professor Csányi a number of important dog issues, such as whether dogs will one day become humans, and why, if humans are more advanced than dogs, they do not learn to become dogs. But we also took a scientific look at whether dogs know that they are dogs or whether they think they are humans, and of course we also looked at the variations in human emotions in dogs.
In these 35-36 minutes, we offer both science and entertainment, not necessarily just for dog lovers.
