Fried Fish and Chips
Ingredients:
Basa Fish: 1.36 kg (3 lbs)
Potatoes: 5 medium-sized
Oil for deep frying
Fish Marinade:
Ginger Garlic Paste: 2 tbsp
Red Chili Powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
Salt: 1 tsp
Chip (Fries) Marinade:
Salt: 1 tsp
Oregano: 1 1/2 tsp
Instructions:
1. Wash the fish thoroughly and cut it into desired pieces.
2. In a marinade mixture, add Ginger Garlic Paste, Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder, and Salt. Mix well.
3. Add the fish to the marinade and let it sit for 20-30 minutes.
4. Peel the potatoes and cut them into fries.
5. In a separate marinade mixture, add Salt and Oregano. Mix well.
6. Add the fries to the marinade and mix well.
7. After the fish marinade is complete, add 4 1/2 tbsp of cornflour and mix well.
8. Fry the fish in hot oil for 5-7 minutes or until it turns golden and crispy. Do not overcook.
9. Remove the fish from the oil and set aside.
10. Add 2 1/2 tbsp of cornflour to the fries and mix well.
11. Fry the fries in hot oil until they turn golden and crispy.
12. Remove the fries from the oil and serve with the fried fish and chili garlic sauce.
