Try this lip smacking and delicious Mutton Snack at home
Recipe:
Ingredients:
Mutton Steaks / Gosht ke tikke - 1/2 kg
Raw Papaya Pieces - 2 tbsp
Green Chillies (cut into pieces) / Hari Mirch - 3
Chopped Coriander / Hara Dhaniya - 3 tbsp
Mint Leaves / Pudine ke Patte - 2 tbsp
Ginger Garlic / Adrak Lehsan Paste - 1 tbsp
Turmeric / Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli / Lal Mirch Powder - 2 tsp
Spices / Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
Salt / Namak - 1 tsp
Juice of half a lemon
Oil / Tel - 1/2 cup + 1/4th cup
Chaat masala - for sprinkling
Raw Onions / Kachhi Pyaz - for serving
Procedure:
1. Wash the mutton steaks and strain its water thoroughly. For this, keep the steaks in the strainer for about 30 min.
2. Grind together raw papaya pieces, 3 green chillies (cut into pieces) , 3 tbsp chopped coriander and 2 tbsp mint leaves into a paste.
3. Place the mutton steaks in a large flat bowl.
4. Add the ground paste of mint, coriander, papaya and chillies.
5. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, spices or garam masala powder, salt and lemon juice.
6. Mix well so that all the steaks are coated well with the spices.
7. Leave the steaks for about one hour if the mutton looks tender or else leave for about 2-3 hours if you are using the frozen mutton.
8. Mix the steaks again in between the marination time.
9. When the marination time is over, add 1/2 cup oil to a frying pan.
10. Mix the marination again and lower the steaks into the hot oil.
11. Turn or flip when it turns brown (you can check in between the frying time).
12. When both the sides are fried well, remove from the pan and repeat with the other steaks.
13. Now cut all the fried steaks into medium strips using a sharp knife.
14. To the remaining oil in the pan, add 1/4th cup more oil.
15. When the oil is hot, add the strips in turns.
16. Add the strips that can accommodate in the pan.
17. Stir occasionally and delicately to prevent breakage.
18. When the strips turn dark brown and crisp remove from the pan.
19. Repeat with the remaining strips or fingers.
20. Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve with raw onions
The delicious mutton fingers are ready, serve as it is or you can serve with rice and any gravy curry.
