I would've never thought to eat sand fleas haha, but hey, they're not that drastically different from shrimp on a surface level. Thanks for being the guinea pig for this, might try it.
Howdy, Brother! Next time I'm at the shore I'll give this a go. I understand that the small sand fleas are taster than the larger ones. Thanks for your time and Drive-On, Cowboy! 🤠
They’ve been selling these in Chinese grocery stores for years. They have a sweet spicy coating that they toss them in. So good! I always buy them if I see them. I remember one time a caucasian family were commenting on how they were gross. Please...they’re missing out!
on the east coast where I live sand fleas are called sand dollars. They're called this on the east coast because back in the day kids would catch these fry them up in oil and sell them by the dozen for a dollar a pop. Poor kids who lived near the beach used to do this for pocket money.
Can you make a video base on cooking fiddler crabs by frying them in season bread crumbs. I want to know if you can eat fiddler crabs instead of using them as bait. 😃
Dang brother, when you had them in the little plastic baggy you were set! From there they would of been super easy to throw into the trash where they belong! For some reason you threw them into the frying pan and ate em!
That's a tought one I don't think anyone ships them but I could be wrong. Probably be able to get someone local to send you some if you reach out in a fishing Facebook group. Happy fishing!
He did it all wrong! First you carefully wash the sand fleas in the purest spring water (slightly chilled). Then in the skillet melt 2-3 tablespoons of butter, add some fresh minced garlic, salt, and pepper (maybe a dash of cayenne pepper). After a minute or so, AND THIS IS THE IMPORTANT STEP, throw away the sand fleas and add shrimp to the pan. Cook thoroughly and enjoy! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That was my thought too, those things are SMALL! A 3 minute fry would turn them into crab chips. You could almost cook them under some really hot tap water. I think dipped in boiling brine for 20 seconds would do it.
