Here in Kentucky the daily limit for Rainbow Trout is 8 daily, 16 limit and no minimum size limit, and Brown Trout is 1 daily, 2 possession limit and has to be 16". The brook trout is catch and release except the Cumberland River. We do have to purchase trout license to be able to fish and keep. Beautiful fish.

What a wonderful video! My Mom and Dad were huge bass fisherman. Dad used to go to seminars in the late 70’s - 80’s that Jimmy Houston was at. He loved to learn all the ins and outs of how to catch bass. After he retired, he would fish the WON Bass ProAm tournaments. He always place in the top ten. Seeing you and Houston out fishing together brought back a lot of great memories for me. Thank you for sharing with us.

Trout is my favorite fish. We use to cook the whole fish in a frying pan dusted with flour and Lawry's seasoning salt. You have to deal with the bones but so, so good.

I've been watching y'all for awhile now and I just want to say how much I truly respect you. When hunting or fishing they have a limit usually and there's plenty of times you won't even hit that limit (by choice). You are teaching Houston(and I'm sure the other 2 kids) to take what you NEED not what you WANT. That's going to go a long ways in life and that deserves the utmost respect. Have a great day

I took my kids to a trout farm when they were little and cought several and they cooked and cleaned them for you it was good.and the kids remember it still. Enjoy your shows and God bless you and your family.

I've never ate trout before. I wouldn't have thought they would taste like crappie either. It's definitely something I'm going to have to try. I cried on your video yesterday where you bought 80 acres and I cried today watching you and Houston fish it reminds me of my dad and I fishing together when he was alive. He was 86 years old when he passed my mother was 90. Love you guys I'm glad the Lord has blessed your channel but you put a lot of hard work in it too Daniel.

The thing you have to remember about trout fishing is , if you plan to release you really should use lures if they are not lip caught they almost always die after release. Bait fishing almost always results in swallowed hook with trout. Looks like fun fishing.

It’s been so long since I went trout fishing it reminds of my grandfather he used to bring me in my dad trout fishing at his camp sadly he passed but hopefully in years to come I will keep the tradition alive! I am 16 so soon I will be able to drive back to the camp and make videos of me fishing there!

Houston is so smart! He is blessed with a loving family. Watching you all fish brings back many good memories of my own childhood. I grew up with a bass fishin daddy who was usually gone every weekend and I only got to go with him a couple of times. But mom and I spent every summer at our cabin on Spring River so I fished just about every day, and many nights catfishing off the dock with my grandfather or dad. They set out the trot lines and it was so fun to go with through the night and caught many catfish and scary alligator gar. My favorite thing to do as a family was to go creek fishing...and gathering water cress from the cold fresh springs. I can remember the taste so well. Thanks for sharing this trip with us! Wondering where you are! God bless you and yours.

I sooo love crappie! Man I miss country life! I've never had any fried trout either...Dad B. used to season and wrap the trout in foil and put them on the grill to bake them...soooo good! I don't remember my dad ever trout fishing, but my best friend's dad would take us and always had cook outs.

I am truly amazed that Dee Jay liked the trout as much as she did. Trout have a heavier flavor than the fish you usually catch. Not sure if they will work for you but up here in Montana the red and white double ought Mepps is king for stream fishing. We also do well with either yellow and black Panther Martin.

We have rainbow trout in all of our Colorado Waters. I was 5 and I caught a 91/2 lbs trout on a 99 cent mickey mouse fishing pole! They are amazing over a open fire or pan fried with the skin still on or wrapped in foil with pieces of lemon and bacon in the middle! You guys got some nice looking ones but they are little compared to what I'm use to catching here in Colorado. You definitely back some great memories I have with my dad fishing! I know he is up in heaven fishing and having the best time! Love all of your videos!!! 🥰

In Wisconsin up North my husband and I did a lot of trout fishing but we didn't really fly Em we just put onions and butter in the middle where the guts were and then we wrapped them in foil and then put them over the fire outside and thit's air outside and that was so good

In Scotland we used to roll them in rolled oats and shallow fry them. My dad taught me how to catch trout with my bare hands. It's called 'guddling'. Another method was to. Make a loop in a piece of copper wire and slowly move the loop over the trouts head and pull, the loop would tighten behind the gills. Both methods entail laying on the bank and put your hands under an overhang where the fish rest. Fun times 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Ah yes, the Blue River. Its not too far from us, but I always buy a few dozen 3-4lbers in the fall and fatten them up over the winter. Then when spring time comes around and our waterfalls start flowing on our ranch they are usually 5lbs ish and ready to be released into the creek. They usually get washed away after a big flood towards summer but in the meantime it's really neat having some massive trout swimming around at the base of a waterfall, especially for southern Oklahoma! If y'all would ever like to come visit, we have a 120 acre lake y'all can fish stocked with small mouth and massive walleye, although you mostly catch large mouth.

You guys have been watching you guys for a while you're catch clean and cook things so really great but if you want to keep your fish from getting soggy get a cookie cooling rack and put your fish on it go ahead and put the paper underneath it but set them on the rack it'll keep them crispy

Oh great time!! I love trout fishing in the West Virginia mountain streams. The best way to cook trout is pan sauté/fry in butter with salt and pepper. I’ve never had deep fried trout but it looked really good. Trout is a light flavored fish! Rainbows and Brooke Trout are native here in WV. We even have golden trout-they are beautiful. 😁😉

That was cool, those trout were pretty active. Walleye run will be starting up next month here in northern Ohio in the rivers that feed Lake Erie. That's a really tasty fish deep fried.

I love catching trout myself and most the time i do fry mine whole and the meal peals right off the bone. The smaller trout are the best. Oh my! Fried trout is to die for!!!! You'll love it! We always just pan fried ours instead of deep frying. Good either way no doubt. I've never eaten a croppie... not sure if we have them around here.

I love fried fish, and I prefer the thinner crispier pieces! We lived on the coast of Texas and we would go fishing in The bays and bayous. We mostly caught redfish, flounder and speckled trout! When you catch all three of them on the same day it's called the Texas Trio! I'm 64 and I did it once! I think I was 9 years old.

I've fished brookies and rainbow all my life. We always fried them. Little ones are best 8" ( measure without head). We left them whole, gutted and cleaned them. Cut off head. Flowered them with salt and pepper added. Fried in frying pan. Then we deboned them. Super easy though still.a few bones! Usually next to the creek or mountain lake we caught them in. Fried taters with onions. Drooling here 😂!

Some of the best trout fishing I ever had was in water only 2 feet deep, in a little bay off of a big lake, where a creek came down from the mountain. 8 to 10 pounders all day.

The fish will taste different depending on the water they are in. The ones here have stronger flavor. I love to gut them then fill the cavity with lemon wedges fresh dill and a few onion pieces wrap in foil and cook in coals. so good

We, here in the northeast Georgia mountains (foothills of the Appalachian Mountains/beginning of the Chattahoochee River), believe there isn’t anything to compare to fried trout caught in the cold Chattahoochee River flowing rapidly through rocky streams winding through small mountain towns and countrysides. However, beware of trout season and don’t get caught fishing for trout out of season!

Daniel and Houston, when you fillet trout, use a pair of needle nose plyers to pull all of those tiny pin bones out before you cook them. Those bones don't feel great, when they stick in your throat. Ask me how I know. They hurt bad. I had to go to the doctor and have one removed.

You should fry them whole with the tail on you will get all the bones out by lifting from the tail to the head . You taste the true flavor of the trout 👍

Daniel & Houston, way to go. Got to go one time out west of Yampa, Co with my cousins back in the day. Gut em & fry them in butter with fried eggs, unbelievable breakfast. Meat just fell off the bone, great week. Hiked 2 hrs from the parking area into the national Forest to mosqito lake. Wish I could go back, been 45 yrs

I caught 3 eight pound brown wild trout. It was a catch and release since they were wild. I got certificates of catching the browns and also took my picture. It was fun, the wild brown don’t bite like rainbow.
