So nice I had to listen twice! Damn I was really surprised how amazing those speakers sounded. So hi-fi, clear, punchy, and the right gritty breakup for my tastes. I’m 100% gonna have to have a cab with them. Also, that amp might be overtaking the JJ as my favorite Friedman. Amazing.
I’ve just wiped my drool and emailed Dave to place an order for one of these 🤤 Does it have the punch and aggression of a Mesa Mark/JP? Great demos mate, keep up the bad work! 🤘
This is probably the best sounding in the series you’ve done, it brings out the inherent smooth/dark nature of the Naked. The other speakers made it sound brutal, this is much more refined (I think I commented a similar thing on your VH4 video, have to grab a set of these speakers). How does the naked compare to the BE deluxe? It seems there is a lot more gain on tap on the naked.
I think the inherent quality of the voicing in the new Naked amp is that its got a very 3 dimensional chug depth. Its a DEEP sounding amp. It resonates in a very specific frequency the other amps dont. it Is smooth to a degree, or set up on the darker side of things , but that hugeness comes with a price. Not sure if there is more gain, but I spent some time with David Friedman playing while he changed values in the amp. I got this exactly where I wanted it.
See, as good as the demos were, I really wasn’t feeling this amp before. Just too fat and wallowing not surgical and precise. But this demo... it sounds like a totally different amp. So much more control at the bottom end... the alnico cream. One speaker you rule them all... my precious.
As a V30 owner, I guess the success of those speakers is mostly referable to the mix-readiness - they are super easy to record and to get immediately a good tone. However, after all of these Reza videos kicking on my gas I'm planning to save some bucks to get a vertical 2x12 with a an alnico cream and a g12-65, at some point. Really curious about the results.
The million dollar question, Reza...which speaker would you blend an Alnico Cream with in a 2x12 for high gain tones? I don't care if its Weber, Celestion, Eminence, WGS, Jupiter, Scumback, etc.
hahahahaha, it wouldn't sound like this anyway. nothing fractal sounds like a real amp with tubes. it's a great unit, and i have an Axe Fx, but no...you can get close to this with the BE100 patch and some eq and a drive pedal, maybe. depends on how good you are at tuning a fractal
there are some similarities. but maybe because they both push such massive air and have that hollow kachunk kind of sound. the Wizard is much busier in the mids and has a different gain structure. the Naked is leaner in the lower mids and has a tighter low end.
RezaMatix do you know if these are going into production or is this just a limited or custom run thing? I have a JJ100 but DAMN that sound makes me want a Naked.
