I mean, I know Doug's a great player but, damn. Playing on demand, do this, do that, make it sound good. Audience of million guitarists ready to judge... Nailed it. Well done my friend.
It’s NAMM and normally nothing sounds good recorded live at NAMM. But crap this sounds stupid good even there. Can’t imagine what it can really do. Dave is putting out some of the best amps period.
Yeah ususaly miced recorded amps for these events/review realy is bad sounding..Nothing like if you were standing there..But this sound amazing...so close if your like standing in the room..Also hats down for the sound engineer for tweaking it...
100-W tube amps are insanely loud but sometimes it's not about the volume it's about headroom. Sometimes a hundred watt amp is a little more punchier than a 50 watt amp at equal volumes
I played some of those amps in that room at 2019 NAMM and even the mini JJ sounded like a roaring beast. They have a wet drive setup going with two 4x12's. Awesome tones there.
M Hoff So this was recorded through a 4x12 at least as far as you know? V30s I’d assume but Friedman likes to combo the Creambacks in some of his cabs. Do you happen to know the cab and speakers. I need a twin Shirley but not a 4x12. 😳
@@toms3158 That Twin Shirley sounds great! The cabs in the background of this video are the matching cabs to the heads they made for Wildwood guitars that year. I'm not sure what speakers. Good chance they are mixed. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p_L6vqTAAvw.html
It's the WW-20 (Wildwood 20) based off of the Pink Taco (PT-20) with all of the tweaks that Dave has made to the amp for Wildwood Guitars. They mention it briefly in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TErKpQIxYl0.html (4:46 in the video).
The Twin Sister is my Dream Amp! Dave really listens to player feedback and the evolution of his amps show that. The SS100v2 includes changes many SS100 owners want. I still need to hear the lead gain cranked on the SS100v2 lead channel to get a sense the amount of gain on tap for left hand legato lines.
I really hope that Dave comes out with a smaller watt version of the Jake E Lee Friedman amp for us bedroom players who don't need a 100 watt amp. That is my favorite Friedman amp that I would buy today.
I hate how youtube wont find related videos when searching for friedman twin sister. I really want to hear more of this amp and got these suggestions: 1. Tips for raising twin babies - Joan Friedman 2. My identical twin with dwarfism 3. A conversation with Tova Friedman - Holocaust survivor 😔
An EL84 35 Watt version, or an EL34 variac lower voltage 30 Watt version of the Jake amp would be perfect! I guess Dave wouldn't make a signature amp that Jake doesn't play and 30 watts are simply not enough for Jake's ears

Is it just me , or does the new Jake E Lee amp sound Bad Ass ?? It just sounds so good in this video compared to the others ... I'm not a fan of the Red color but i know its a sig. amp an all etc etc .
Great amp builders nowadays but for my taste is hard to compete with Friedman.... it has just the perfect tone(s)... clean, edge of break up, crunch, lead...
SS100 has a ballsiest character and tastiest gain for my money. Twin Sister can do the prettiest cleans to the snottiest dirty. JEL was built for Jake-ing.
👍 Thank you! Great video! Next time maybe with two microphones, then you would also understand everything from Dave and you would not have to wave the microphone around so annoyingly in front of his face!
