Congrats on the amp. I just got myself a Pink Taco and fucking love it. Dave knows how to design and maximize an amp, other amp makers should be taking notes.
You can really hear that old mastodon sound. Would love to get one of those. I have a BE412 Friedman cab (2V30 X 2 greenback) that I love, would be perfect with it. I use a 6505+ with it now. It’s be so cool to try the BE50 on it.
Nice job and congrats on the amp. It's a real treat. I've had this amp for about 18 months now and I'm still discovering new things that it can do. I much more prefer the clean on this as opposed to the clean plexi on the 100 having listened to them side by side. I think this is one of the most versatile amps I've owned in my life. Sometimes versatility means it can do a lot of things that will pass as convincing. This is far more than that as it does each thing in spades. As well as anything I've heard. Depending on the pups I'm using and the volume and tone controls, you can really do a lot without even having to touch the amp. Also, it takes pedals so very well. I use a Buxom Boost for a clean Boost and it's like an extension of the amp. A great match.
Hey dude, the only way I can get any gain is to max out the gain, master at 8 or 9 when it opens up, switch on High in the back and an SD-1 in front of it. Without the SD-1 in front it's flat and flubby. Any advice to get this kind of gain without the SD-1 in front?
Awesome! I've been deciding between this, a Bogner XTC, Mesa TC-100 and Diezel D-Mol and I'm leaning toward the Friedman. Thanks for a great demo and comments from you all.
Best review and demo of this amp. Finally a review where I can hear how metal sounds on it. Perfect! Thank man. This video seals it for me I am getting it ❤
@@hrvojemolnar7806 sure but it's higher gain and more compressed already. You can drop the gain on it and boost it for sure, but I prefer to boost the BE channel and use the HBE direct in with the guitar.
This is one of those pedals that I’ve had on my radar for a year but I just now remembered it because of your video. It sounds good! It’s like a hot-rodded Marshall on steroids!
Dude... awesome video!!! I've owned JCM 800s an Vintage Modern, loved them both but last year I bought a Mesa Stiletto Duce Stage II that I am in love with. Basically a modded JCM 800 (with way more gain) through a Rectifier power amp. I played a JJ Jr and I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, super cool but I really wanted something a little fuller sounding. Even the Mesa Mark V 35 and Mini Rec were more full sounding an I really want to check out a Friedman BE 50
For whatever reason I really enjoyed hearing your riff stylings through this amp. Maybe it's because you didn't "dad rock" during the demo. No hate on dad rock but that wouldn't be on-brand here. Anyway I finally ordered a Metalhead tshirt. Keep it up.
Awesome dude! Hope you can help. I recently purchased this amp and I can't seem to get any gain out of it. The only way to get gain is to max out the gain, master at 8 or 9 when it opens up, Switch on High in the back and an SD-1 in front of it. Even without the SD-1 it's flat and flubby. Love your tone hear any advice would be greta. Thanks again dude!
Hey bro. Great review. I want a high gain Marshall style amp in my stable. I mostly have older Mesas, Bogner Shiva 20th, Revv, etc. I do t like super dry amps like Vht heads. Can this get more saturated with the Sat and Negative Feedback? Big Slayer fan, especially the Repentless era. . I want that high gain but also some low and medium gain.
Yeah it will absolutely do all of that, and of course boost the BE channel will take you to thrash, and even more modern stuff. Definitely not as dry as a vht, and that fat switch is great to thicken up everything if need be.
