Seriously one of the greatest musical performances I have ever seen. This is passion and genius. It brings to me tears every time I view it. His energy is unsurpassed in this.
This is one of the greatest piano performance of Beethoven (or any other composer) I have ever heard. Titanic and Gulda knows he nailed it. Amazing final movement.
Now THAT really IS wonderful. Beethoven means to take us straight up io The HOLY PLACE -- The End of Striving -- the SOURCE of all Light, Joy, Peace, Satisfaction and Fulfillment. and Gulda made that splendidly apparent in this magnificent performance. BRAVO!
Love that little triumphant gesture of "yes, there!" at the very end, as an obviously emotionally charged Gulda poured body and soul into this magnificent culmination to a grand performance. Thanks so much for posting!
obwohl schon sehr krank gewesen - wie deutlich zu sehen ist- eine tolle Leistung! Für seine Japan Konzerte hat der Meister auch immer ordentlich geübt, was leider nicht immer der Fall gewesen war, besonders als er sich im Jazz versuchte. Dennoch: Gulda war ein Genie! Man muss ihn nicht mögen, aber man muss seine außergwöhnlichen Fähigkeiten anerkennen.
