The song was truly a story without words: it told us about a dark utopia, when the quiet rural life (dog barking, cow mooing) was violently disrupted by urbanization (jackhammer, police sirens) which ultimately led to an alien invasion (laser) and forced the remnants of humankind to detonate a nuclear missile (bomb sound at the end) on their home to prevent the alien invaders taking Earth. Truly, a meaningful story with so much emotion in it.

I think one of the reasons this scene was (and still is) hysterically funny is the seeming randomness of these wacky, almost cartoon-like sounds, while Ross plays them with absolute seriousness. Some things dont need an official explanation, this way the fanbase (including myself) has room for theories. Consider it as one, nothing more :)

Strangely, Phoebe is the only one who genuinely appreciates Ross' art. At the end when Ross "intentionally plays badly", Phoebe could tell too that he lost it.

I think the point was actually to write him as a bit of a whiney character so when ppl say they dislike Ross for it I get it but it’s also I think part of the point of his character, he balances out with purely unintentional comedic gold . I love em lol

I wonder why was chandler surprised as they both were college mates and chandler was the lead singer in their band for crying out loud. He should have been aware of ross's Gifts. Sometimes the loop holes in the show where very evident.
