It’s because of his position of power over his daughter as her professor. Plus, Rachel is already in her late twenties or thirties at this point, making her much more able to consent to an older partner than someone as young as Elizabeth, who seems to be in her early twenties at this point and still transitioning into adulthood

Unlike Ross, who started dating Elizabeth only after she already graduated from his class, so he was not her teacher anymore. but you hypocrite, you have no problem with Rachel, only with Ross, right? I'm so sick of this Ross hate bandwagon, and all the lies about him and twisting facts when literally other characters did the same as him or even worse! And again, he didn't do anything wrong. Elizabeth was an adult, fully grown-up woman and she wanted to date Ross. It's a consensual relationship between two adults. Her father is rather a control freak. And btw, the age of consent is 17 or even younger in many states, including New York. Elizabet was 20-smth. stfu
