Friends with benefits always works for about two minutes. Then it gets tricky.

This usually ends in being happily married with 3 kids. Speaking from experience.

Old story. I knew these guys in college. One person found a big house to rent. She then began to find roommates. They still needed 2 more people to make it work. I already knew her & very vaguely was aware of him. Over the years roomies came & went~flunked out, had to go to rehab, moved in with boy/girl friend, ran out of money… By senior year only the “Final Two” of original group were still renting in the same place.The .house had an amazing location for campus. Anyway the other Roomies were all freshmen. Senior year The “Final Two” felt that they were Mom & Dad to the callow college newbie’s. One night everyone was there watching the schools Football team which was on a national broadcast. Chatting during the game the Final Two talked about how they had backpacked across Europe that summer & they had a fantastic time. One of the freshman girls was shocked as she had no idea that the Final Two were a couple. The Final Two just laughed & said they were just pals. Years later I ran into the Final Two at our Alma Mater basketball game. We agreed to meet after the game to catch up. The Final Two told me they occasionally ran into each other at the basketball games. We talked about shared memories. She told the Football games/backpack story. So I asked so “never” had you? They admitted to having “thoughts” but the timing was always just off. When one was available the other was in a relationship. She got engaged but never married the guy. He left town for several years only ti return with a big promotion. By sheer chance they reconnected as friends. They just never crossed the line.

Imagine all of this being a conceptual series when a couple in relationship has some kind of disorder making them act totally different each time. Like today they forgot they're dating and decided to try friendship with benefits

The key is to choose someone you aren't that close to. Best friend you do everything with? Basically the same as dating. Friend who's in your friend group but you don't really "get" or hang out with individually? Let's go!

I had one of those and we had the best of times. We have since moved on to our own lives but we still communicate and joke about the good old days, we both have met each other current partners and that part of our history is sealed to just us and the people that existed in that time space. Never knock it unless you had it, fortunately our thing worked out to each others advantage.
