Frieren is the best anime of my life. The original manga itself is great, but I think they've translated it even better into an anime. I can't wait for season 2.
'I am the encyclopedia of magic. All magic ever created in history is in my arsenal. You can choose one magic that you desire' 'Is there a magic that could clean my clothes easily?' 'Are you insane?'
We are told not to tear up when we say goodbye to this wonderful anime because it would be embarrassing when we meet again. I would like to follow this advice. BUT Too late for me. I teared up at the credits.
For me it wasn`t even the fact that Himmel said that, what made me tear up it was a second later when i realized not only did Himmel say that to Frieren in show, its Madhouse breaking the 4th wall and talking to me the audience.
I didn’t think of it that way when watching it but what you said made a lot of sense. The spell that makes a field of flowers is probably the most important spell in that era of the anime despite it being so plain and simple. It’s what connects Flamme to Frieren and Frieren to Himmel. Without which the demon king may never have been defeated to start the era of peace. Also Frieren to Fern, that episode of finding the blue flowers perhaps was when Frieren made Fern realise she actually loves magic.
I just realized something. Himmel passed away with a peaceful smile on his face. While people in the church said that Frieren, Heiter and Eisen being heartless and not crying, Frieren looked at Himmel and seemed to remember something. I think Frieren remembered Himmel once said that "It would be embarrassing when we met again" but no, this time no she would not see Himmel again so she finally regretted that why didn't she get to know Himmel better.
I dunno about y'all but having a spell that would make clothes clean and spotless is life changing for me. Fck any other world ending spell of chaos and destruction. I aint doin laundry ever again.
you know what's funny? it wasn't shown at full scale yet, but Frieren has exceptional ability to analyze the magic. if she ever need it, she could turn those "useless" spells in something world ending. like the spell turning sweet grapes in sour can lead to a spell turning any water in acid. and its not even the most broken shit, hot tea spell can be turned in some absurd shit like shoting lava or plasma shenanigans.
i mean, there is so much memes about it. some guy even took a meme about Frieren trowing a kiss in EP 13 and made a GAME out of it. ppl writing fucking books in comments under the videos about this show. i myself had a 100+ commetns long didiscussion with one guy once, and every of those 100+ was hella long comment. we were arguing if Land created his clones on the spot or they were walking to it from his home town. about what Ubel could cut and what couldn't. about how mana supression works. about things from manga after the anime events and so on. its not that hard to understand why it took first place on MAL.
Frieren is the only anime for a long time where it got me excited every week again waiting for the next episode. Before, I'm pretty much tired of watching anime for many years because i've watched so many now. I've been watching continously for almost 20 years and probably have watched 1000+ animes. Even back when i was 4 years in watching anime, I'm already tired of watching lol. The only reason why i didn't stop watching is because anime for me is the greatest entertainment for killing time. Also the reason why i got tired of watching anime is because almost all of them are following the same trope over and over again. That's why even popular animes now like MHA, JJK, solo leveling, demon slayer, etc. I can't even finish those because of how many generic tropes they have. I mean it make sense, why change it if it still works right? I can't even finish most of anime now i just ended up just watching 2 or 3 episodes and get bored and i immediately stop watching. That's why I'm happy that watching frieren somehow made me feel the joy of watching anime again.
other anime: in this episode you will laugh your shit off, in this one you will cry like a bitch, in this one you will be fucking hyped Frieren: why do you even need to choose?
There was sad news in Japan yesterday. Atsuko Tanaka, who provided the voice for Flamm, had been battling illness for the past year, but her son and voice actor Hikaru Tanaka announced that she passed away on the 20th, Japan time. Atsuko, who has a unique voice, was active not only in anime, but also in dubbing many foreign films. On a personal note, the most memorable voice of hers is Motoko Kusanagi (Major) from Ghost in the Shell. Please rest in peace...
"perfect adaptation" is an understatement really, it went beyond and surpass the manga, one of the few show where i would recommend people to watch the anime first rather than the source material
Amazing Vídeo for a perfect and GOAT anime. The fact we know that we'll see them again doesn't change how emotional was the ending, sorry himmel, next meeting will be a little embarassing.
Japanese manga, which were ridiculed by their parents, have been able to exist in this era thanks to a flamme named Toriyama, a free-lance manga artist.
Frieren was such a fun journey to go through, hoping we get a good adaptation of season 2 soon. If you haven’t already seen it, I think you two might enjoy The Apothecary Diaries.
Wonderful last episode of season1 & I am looking forward to watch the season2🌸 Compilation of Frieren will be broadcasted next week (March, 29, 23:15-23:45) in Japan📺
Serie is someone that young people of this generation may not understand or tolerate as this people fed on praises and shy away from criticism. In my theory, Serie can't allow herself to be soft because of her position.
Well, Frieren did call Serie a child. I don't think that was meant as an insult, it was meant in a literal, loving way. She isn't any more angry at Serie for behaving the way she did as a Parent would be angry at a child behaving... well childish. It's expected. Then again, when Frieren said that, my immediate thought was "Hah, look who's talking!". 😂
Aw... already reach the end of season 1. Can't wait for volume 11. The adaptation is perfect in my opinion. At first I'm scare but this studio really takes time and didn't rush it. Can't wait for The Golden Land Arc in season 2.
honestly, when i look at Frieren i belive she's hella old, even if she's child sometimes. when i look at Marcille, i don't belive she's old, she's like childish Frieren, but almost all the time...
