I mean if you look deeper into this, Frieren only commands Aura to "kys", so Aura could have chosen ANY methods to do so but Aura got the nickname "Aura the Guillotine" BECAUSE her method of killing is to decapitate her victims And how did she choose to kill herself? that's right, with the method of killing she used the most

Graf granat mentioned in episode 9 that aura's magic has a fatal flaw that whoever has a strong will can resist the spell temporarily. and when frieren told aura to unalive herself, it looks like aura has a strong will to defeat frieren and trying so hard to resist her own spell. that fatal flaw makes aura's death more brutal.

Aura cut off the heads of many knights and made them obey her orders. It must be humiliating for them to fight against their former comrades. Frieren understood their resentment and might have been angry with Aura. Therefore, Frieren took revenge on Aura on their behalf in the same way Aura had done. "Kill yourself" resulted in Aura following Frieren's order and cutting off Aura's own head.

@@michiorarimsama7179, yea, JJK is the same. am i the only one think that mages in JJK fight with their fists just to make Itadori not look like an idiot if they were used ranged attacks? also, my point was that it an old idea to hide your real power. but nobody used it like this yet. the funniest part of this show it how predictable some events are, while still making ppl loose thier shit, when they see things they knew gonna happen. its not about what happen, its about how it happen. this anime respects its wievers, it knows we're smart enough to predict some things. and instead of giving us a twist that's impossible to predict(aka deus ex machina), it gives us exactly what we predicted, but making it so cool, nobody complain its predictable. like ep 10. half of the episode it was expplaining about mana supressing, we knew Frieren mastered it and were like "i know what gonna be next". and right on the culmination when Frieren release her mana you like "i knew its gonna happen, i knew this gooooooooooooooooo FUCK!"
