Stark seems to get trained by random Masters from time to time. So far he was trained by Eisen, Kraft, Voll, and now this nameless martial arts master. There's a couple more in the manga I think.

I remember seeing someone comment about this on Denken’s fire tornado attack being very impressive. The reason is that defensive spells consume a lot of mana, which increases the wider the area it's being covered. Since the fire tornado is an omnidirectional spell, it forces the target to put up a barrier completely around themselves. For any typical strong mage, they would run out of mana fast… but unfortunately, this is Frieren that Denken is facing up against.

Frieren seems old to us, but to other elves she is just a young whippersnapper! Kraft said she was still young and he used to think like her. And Serie is so old she has learned pretty much every spell in existence and been alive since the mystical age. BUT, she couldn't defeat the demon lord... Whereas Frieren could. The manga tells you why, and you can kinda work it out from the next few episodes (if they follow the Manga) so won't spoil it, but the reason is cool and kind of related to Ubel.

Stark wasn't getting trained by that random old man, and Frieren has stated she lost 11 times to mages with less mana. 4 of them were demons 1 an elf and the other 6 where humans
