I have a coil electric and wanted to update to induction but I wont b/c even the new slide ins leave a slight gap between the stove top and the counter where any spill would go and make any clean up impossible. My 32 year old range overlaps the counter making clean up a breeze and gives a much nicer esthetic and a built in look. I hear manufactures used to make the top with slightly extended sides to cover any gap. Until it dies , I'll stick with what I have at least until they make them right.
