FRITZ! Clip - Configuring FRITZ!Fon and learning its features 

The FRITZ!Fon uses the language set in the FRITZ!Box user interface as its menu language. The language selection is automatically controlled by the telephone's software. Everything is explained here: en.avm.de/service/knowledge-base/dok/FRITZ-Fon-C5/428_Selecting-menu-language

Our FRITZ!Fons are DECT-Phones not VOIP phones. The reason, the FRITZ!Box or an alternative Router establishes the telephone number. So it is possible to assign the desiered and set up numbers to the desiered and installed telephones. For example, you have landline , you connected your FRITZ!Box to the landline and set up the number in the FRITZ!Box. Afterwards you can easily assgin this number in the FRITZ!Box to your FRITZ!Fon. If you have VOIP you set up the number in teh FRITZ!Box and assign it to the FRITZ!Fon. @@fritzboxenglish I have the fritzbox router and spent hours trying to get the phone to work. Then called my ISP who told me that the Fritz fon is a VOIP phone and uses the internet for calles. I googled for info on how to make it work, watched your videos, read and re-read the instructions. The phone itself functions and the router registered it, but I cannot use it as a phone. It won't let me dial out, nor accept incoming calls, as I tried it with my cellphone.

@@fritzboxenglish I tried again this morning using the link you provided however there is no option to click 'landline enabled' as per the instructions......... "Enabling the landline settings . Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface. Click "Telephone Numbers" in the "Telephony" menu. Click on the "Line Settings" tab. Enable the option "Landline enabled". Click "Apply" to save the settings."

Thank you for the information. Your can only call in and out with the FRITZ!Fon if you installed the FRITZ!Box in the intended way and if you registered your telephone numbers successfully. We think this is the problem. What FRITZ!Box-model do you use and do you have landline? (ISDN or analog?)This might help to find the reason.

@@fritzboxenglish I have the Fritzbox 7530 and ISDN landline, but bought my Fritzfon as my normal landline phone was old. I remember having a Fritzbox years ago and loved it.

You can configure internet telephone numbers and use a FRITZ!Fon. The following instructions show you how: en.avm.de/service/fritzbox/fritzbox-6890-lte/knowledge-base/publication/show/32_Configuring-internet-telephone-numbers-in-FRITZ-Box/. Mobile telephone numbers cannot be used with the FRITZ!Box.
