David Taylor coaching at OSU, any college for that matter would be good for wrestling. The PSU program has proven that they turn out the best athletes with great character. The spread of the skill and character of athletes the PSU program produces would elevate the sport.
He probably was promised the job by John Smith. However, John Smith is not the AD and obviously this person had different ideas. Definitely the right choice.
About time shane sparks came back on. He hasn't been on since ncaas. Should've asked him what he thought about the tournament. A horse got incinerated? Definitely sounds like mafia shenanigans
No way? If he were to take a job at this point in time it would DEFINITELY be Oklahoma State. However, it’s unlikely since he has a good chance to wrestle in the next Olympics.
David already said he would fight Jordan B for $10 Million David can make so much 💰💲💵💸 fighting in the UFC -MMA then Coaching it's not even close but he just signed a Contract with Nike 🤔
They just announced DT as head coach. Wonder if he takes Kennedy with him and any others he might bring with him. Wonder if any chance Levi transfers to okie state this or next year. I would actually love that, frees up a spot for Kasak or Svn also and gives DT a true blue chipper at okie
Please listen to your audio on the podcast links The audio quality is very poor. I love to listen, but the volume is way too low to hear properly. Thanks
@michaelscott33 I wouldn't say Taylor is more qualified to be a head coach than Coleman, BUT Taylor has more name recognition and star power. And DT is my favorite all time wrestler.
@@combatspeed6392 does that necessarily translate into coaching ability as a CEO level head coach at a D1 college? I’m not saying he won’t be good I’m just saying
@daytonasayswhat9333 read the entire context of the thread. The dude above me basically said Coleman Scott should realize that David Taylor is more qualified. Taylor who has NEVER coached college wrestling is NOT more qualified to be a collegiate head coach, than Scott a FORMER head coach at a major university. I did not make a single judgement call on how Taylor would do. I'm pointing out the flaw is miachaelscott33's comment.
Not saying DT is going to OKST but this is a very similar situation to when Cael left his alma mater of ISU. This would be the best job outside of PSU for DT. Also for what he wants to do outside of wrestling farm/ranch OKST is hard to beat for that as well, just look at John Smith and the fact he bought multiple ranches while coaching there. I think Christian is prob right about DT not going, but if he did go I don't think there would be a better fit.
@@daytonasayswhat9333 and even if his end goal is to be the head coach of PSU when Cael retires he can still go back and PSU would just have to pay him more since he would have Head Coach experience. Not to mention all the money he would have made in the meantime at OKST that he would have not made staying in State College. But even with all that he will prob still not take job.
@@TheRednose3269 Waiting around for someone else to retire is an antiquated 1950s maneuver. Only a chump would do that, in the modern area. And ironically, Cael did exactly this: went somewhere other than his alma mater. If Kyle is any type of mentor, Lidor and Friend, he would be happy with his people taking the best opportunity possible the head coaching job at Oklahoma State is a once in a generation opportunity.
@@TheRednose3269 for sure. Just confirms that David Taylor is a big thinker and sees the bigger picture. Only losers stay around their hometown and decline opportunities like this.
Why doesn't some reach out to one of the kids he trains or multiple and simply ask have you asked David the question. Simply are you going to be a head coach or stay. And if he is going to be a head coach who would run the kid program he has? Just a thought
Love DT as a competitor, always. But he’s not been in that HC seat anywhere. And Coleman was generating routine success outside of the power conferences. I hope O State gives him the nod he deserves.
Also don't be surprised if Coleman finishes outside of top 3 for more than a year or two and DT officially retires from wrestling if OKST goes after DT again.
That’s childish and colloquial. How could you be against someone for taking the second best head coaching job in the country? Any real leader and mentor would want you to have the best opportunity possible.
Bray is awesome, great guy, very knowledgeable. He isn’t looking to replace Ben. He is doing what is asked of him and as usual..is doing an excellent job!
He at least speaks well. JD kind of mumbles his way through. Good guy but probably not who you want as cohost. And this is coming from me somebody who mumbles like crazy and has a minor speech impediment. I would not be a good host.
