What beautiful renditions of several of my favorite pieces. The Kerll and L. Couperin passacaglias really rock here. 👏 👏 👏

Beautiful performance in this concert... and practically mind-boggling to think that this Ruckers has survived(?!) nearly four-hundred years!
@sofyagandilyan4031
@sofyagandilyan4031 2 года назад
Yes, it survived with a help of fantastic harpsichord master Christopher Clarke!

Such a nice present, such a fine recital by a prize winner of the Brugge harpsichord competition (2015) on one of the finest historical informed instruments available.

THIS REBUILT HARPSICHORD HAS A BEAUTIFUL SOUND. BUT THE MUSIC DOESN´T MAKE MUCH SENSE TO ME.

Maybe you give a chance to my explanations in the beginning and between the pieces (engl.subtitles available)? Then you could learn, that it is an original Ruckers harpsichord from 1624 and not a copy. With my comments I also tried to prepare a listener to listen to special futures and signs in this music

Why build a tone lower?
@sofyagandilyan4031
@sofyagandilyan4031 2 года назад
When this harpsichord was built (400 years ago) plenty of pitches existed at the same time with difference in about 100 Hz for the same note

@@sofyagandilyan4031 It's hard for my ears to listen to Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavier" performed by Blandine Verlet a tone lower.

@@nikolaikrinets5136 I can imagine, maybe you’ll find something on the internet to the topic historical pitches, it’s quite exciting actually!

@@nikolaikrinets5136 Such a curse it must be to have perfect pitch. It must get in the way of enjoyment of some very good performances.
