I really enjoyed reading it for a number of reasons: - Your land sounds incredibly amazing - It’s wonderful you are taking care of the cats - Its so nice to hear you like to listen to the frogs! Many people are looking to get rid of them to not hear them, so thank you. But your main point is, how can you have harmony between the cats and the frogs in your yard? I am going to focus on the cats because they are the ones (naturally) hunting the frogs ;) Keep in mind, this video was for aquatic frogs or toads, and you seem to have tree frogs, and they will generally not confine to one place or sit in a clay pot. But you have 4 cats you can work with directly. I am not a cat expert by all means but that being said, I have a cat and I love to watch Jackson Galaxy who is a cat expert. I am going to refer one of his videos in a moment but here is my take. It sounds like the cats have been on your land for a while and are used to the frogs. It is possible the cats safely ate the frogs in the past if they are non poisonous. At this point however, the cats probably do not want to eat the frogs if you are now feeding the cats regularly. Therefore, what I believe is the cats are going after the frogs for play. This is part of the very natural "hunt, catch and kill" instinct that cats have, especially since they are feral. Even if they do not eat the frog, they want to hunt and catch it (play). I know I have not provided a solution yet but bear with me ;) I want to save your frogs as much as you do and help you have harmony among your backyard creatures. What time of day do cats naturally hunt? At night, when their prey is most active. The hard thing is, the frogs are generally active in the evenings and at night as well. Here are a few (rhetorical) questions: - Is it one cat hunting the frogs, certain cats, or all of them? - Does this always happen at the same time of day? - Do the cats get enough active play to have no energy to want to hunt the frogs? - When do you usually feed your cats? What I think can help is: 1. Find out what time of day the cats generally like to hunt the frogs 2. Play with the cat(s) that like(s) to hunt the frogs before that moment of the day (see the video below) 3. Also, it sounds like you have tree frogs since they sit on vines (my educated guess would be American Green Tree Frogs based on your and their location toadsnfrogs.com/green-tree-frog/). The cats would have to put in a lot of effort to catch them - so if they just played and ate, I think there are less chances the cats will bother the frogs. Hopefully tiring out the cats with play, and then feeding them before they usually hunt the frogs will make them not want to bother with them anymore :) I hope that helps! :) All the best
