It is attractive the kamisori but it is not thought to use on yourself. A professional told me you need to do monkey's moves to shave🤔.I am very dubiius about its comfort🎉🎉

It's a great object to own but I would agree that asymmetric edges are not my favorite

What were those two stones you used on the whetsone? Nice! I might get a kamisory soon. And no stropping ?

@@georgehafidz7486 it often is... That's how you learn, you'll learn how to handle the razor, learn the curves of your face and the parts that are sensitive and to watch for, how to build a proper lather. It took me 3 to 6 months to be fully comfortable.

@@FroggyShave yep...i haven't clean shaved for twenty years!! first time was two weeks ago....with the kamisori..i had to steop halfway through...my chin hairs are like jungle tree trunks to a razor..

@@georgehafidz7486 maybe go for a standard European style straight razor at first. Easier to use.

That's a big kamisori, I only have one authentic kamisori but it's smaller and much older. I rarely use it but is the smallest bevel angle of my collection at about 15 degrees. I don't think there's any problem in using both Ura and Omote to shave. The story goes that Japanese wives used to shave their husbands and so only used the Ura as left hand/right hand didn't come into it with someone else doing the shaving. On using a credit card to move the slurry I'd be afraid of plastic particles entering the slurry. there's nothing wrong in using the blade in a single stropping motion to reposition the slurry. On the 10:1 ratio I think this is more a guide for people that don't know what they're looking for. I do 7:1 ratio but the guy in the following video doesn't use ratios at all as he knows what he wants by feel and experience. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zfhh1PSnfxg.html Notice the slight diagonal strokes he does mainly one the Ura at around 1:57 to remove any burr.

Thx for your support and comment. Regarding using the credit card, to be honest as long as you're going easy with the card on the stone, you should be fine. And didn't see any impact on the edge with the microscope view. Regarding the ratio, there is no formal guidance indeed, everybody is free to find what's working for them. The guy is your video has a different way also to give by mainly doing circles where I prefer to do mainly straight strokes. But again, the important is to be happy with the final result. 🙂👍
