This is Great! We would love a video detailing your experience at Facebook ( how you got promoted, what did you lean, what would you do differently..) Thanks!
I love your honesty. People think they just drop from nowhere and become great coders when they join computer science schools. They don't know that Coding skill is a continuous learning process. Like maths, you must continuously practice to get better. More importantly, knowing important programming concerts is key. The building blocks to any programming language>programming concepts.
this is such an amazing channel. i utilized your 1:1 meets strategy and it 100% improved my experience from clueless 1:1s to where I was making progress with my manager.
I really appreciate you making this video! It was nice to see your progression. I'm also a student who also had very little coding experience before college. I'm still interviewing currently but so far I received an internship offer from walmart labs and its nice to see how you made it to facebook after being there.
Your talks are way more insightful than others and also they are very UNIQUE on RU-vid..... Atleast I can't find this content on any other channel..... Thanks a lot ! ~ From- UP, India.
Thank you. Question. I know you said rejection is part of the game but do you think it is going to be much harder to get Android development position in this economy. Remote entry level ? I recently finished the projects in your course and i'm building bigger ones for portfolio while applying. Thanks for the info!!
Entry level roles will tighten more than senior-level roles, but there are still a good number of companies that are hiring a lot. I'd keep focusing on (1) building something impressive and (2) working with people enough that they can refer you.
wow, didn' t know you never had any coding experience before college. that's reassuring to hear. you can still become a competent engineer even if you don't start coding at 8 yrs old lol. i got multiple internships in my freshman year because i spent a ton of time preparing for coding interviews. i struggled during the actual internships though because leetcode & software engineering is nothing alike. def felt very confused at why leetcode was emphasized so strongly lol
@@RahulPandeyrkp i'm hesitant to take too much credit, the interview is too easy to prepare for. Or maybe that's the point to select for the candidates that prepare the best.
man..it's just so frustrating getting tons and tons of rejections from everywhere and not even landing a low paid internship, at this point I don't even know what to do or who to approach , I'm the first kid in my family to attend university and feels like eveyone is doing well except for me in my college
dude dont give up. never forget that you arent alone in this. sooner or later you're going to realize that EVERYONE feels this way. companies arent just rejecting you. literally just keep trying, it WILL work out. study, learn, develop yourself, and eventually it'll all fall in place. there's no point moping around (sorry if that sounds harsh), you just have to weather the storm and keep going. i know it sounds generic but its actually really important. my internship search took me months and I was depressed because I thought I would NEVER get ANYTHING. but eventually I did. it hits you when you least expect it. but again, you gotta improve yourself along the way too.
I’m so impressed with the details of your journey. I wish you continued success and please do keep us informed of your continued progress. Very exciting to see.
@@RahulPandeyrkp much better! Google needs to fix their algo to stop promoting videos with loud thumbnails and instead promote high quality content, latter of which your videos always comprise of.
Most people think that it's really easy to become a successful software engineer. But they don't understand the amount of effort these individuals put in to make a decent living.
@@RahulPandeyrkp Thanks for the answer brother! If you could answer one more that would make me really happy. I am studying Information Systems and this year I had a class where I learned core Java and basic GUI. Is it okey for me to start learning android development now or is it maybe too early? Is it a good career still? In my college there is a lot of management theory so I don't know if that can transfer well into building apps, I hope I am not wasting my time. Subbed btw!
Whaat a journey Rahul! Thanks for being so transparent , really appreciate your effort to bring good things into the community and to add values to SWEs .
