Gill cannot deal with the new ball and Iyer is clueless against bounce. Even Mayank Agarwal could have scored more than Jaiswal. If Vihari got as much backing as Gill, he could have become the test vice-captain by now. Rahane > Shreyas, Sundar > Jadeja. Prasidh is disappointing. Even Shardul could have bowled better and added 20 odd runs with the bat as well. God save Indian test team if Jaiswal is our best domestic red ball player and Gill is our generational talent.

Survival will work only when you have good defensive technique which most Indian batsmen dont have. Shreyas Iyer is one day and t20 player why he is getting selected in first place.Shreyas can work in indian conditions but outside India his poor defensive technique exposes himself. Ravi Jadeja is bcming a useless commodity in all form of cricket dono why Indian selectors are giving ample opportunities to him . Atleast in ind he can act as a bowler in spin friendly test wickets bt in ODI and away test that guy shld b shown the door long ago
It was a bowlers paradise , batting seemed really difficult for both the teams . I don’t think you have to blame the tail Enders for getting 0 on a tough pitch as their role is to bowl and they did that well. Among our top 5 at least 2/3 must get half centuries or one must get a century
In Indias case it is expected. It certainly can't be accepted. Don't know how high was Sunil Gavaskar before downplaying South African team. Indias batting performance in the three tours in South Africa including this one has been nothing short of pathetic. In 2018 bowlers held up some hope but in 2020 the bowlers gave up and this time in the 1st Test they couldn't shine but in the second test when they gave chance the batsman again made a meal out of it. Why is the South African tour even scheduled when the team isn't capable of defeating their weaker side. It used to be understandable when they had a formidable side but since 2018 India kept on making themselves and the fans look foolish by wasting opportunities after opportunities.
It was shameful that India lost 6 wickets like nothing. But still India has taken 3 wickets in the second innings. If India strike tomorrow very early they can still win by an innings and some runs. Disappointed with Jaiswal though

Rabada is by far the greatest Test bowler of this current era. He is far better than Bumrah , Hazlewood , Shaheen , Wood etc. Rabada is absolutely amazing

They should honestly stop playing test cricket. This is literally a disgrace. Playing test matches with t20 kids with erectile dysfunction and can’t even last for a day in a test match. Better stick to T20 or maybe introduce T10.

Lower-order batting for the Indian cricket team has always been worst . Bowlers need to step up and contribute more with the bat. Look at australia's lower order starc, Cummins, Hazelwood all can bat pretty well.
